ROARING TWENTIES
Even though Covid-19 is a long way from ever receding from our lives, I fear so much of the fear and concern is leaving our day-to-day perceptions. Bars and restaurants are at maximum legal capacity, airports are crammed with tourists, and the general public has pretty much moved on.
And that’s what happened 100 years ago. People had been cooped up inside for sometimes up to two or three years with a flu pandemic, so by 1921-22 they couldn’t stand reverting to the old ways. They wanted to let loose, have wild fun, they wanted to rage. And I see that same sensibility in my friends, models, and family.
Which coincides perfectly to this series with the fabulous, flawless Erna O’Hara. With her 1920’s flapper hair and timeless style and sensibility, she is the perfect woman you’d want to rage with. She’s fun, goofy, kind-hearted, and drop-dead sexy. She is a fashion designer, has a degree in Fine Art and can talk intelligently and thoughtfully on numerous fascinating subjects. But Erna is also real, vulnerable, sensitive, and genuine.
I’m happy to count her as a new friendship that’s come out of this crazy year, and have so many photos of her to share that it will take years to show it all. For now, please enjoy this great new series of one of my new favorite people!
