WARM TONES AT HOME
After years of online communication, I was pleased to finally work with talented model and fashion designer Erna, who has been a longtime model and muse to some of the most talented photographers throughout the country. Though she’s modeled for over a dozen years, she still has the looks and body of a fresh-faced ingenue.
While dropping off my stepson at LAX late last Sunday evening, I stopped off at her place nearby and we shot for almost two hours. In that time we shared gossip, told stories, and created some of my new favorite images. She is as warm and polite and sweet as she is reliably professional. She had outfit options ready, was chill and open-minded, and not once gave even a hint of being a diva.
Having attended an art college and graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, we had much in common and were able to have a creative shorthand that is not very common with most young models who grew up with Instagram. Erna has been modeling as long as I’ve been a photographer, so we both shared our experienced on the evolution and frustration with the ebbs and flows of social media platforms that were popular, bought by large corporations, then faded away.
We had a great visit and I like to think I’ve gained another new friend in this crazy, creative world of ours. Please enjoy this first great series of our work together, there are many more to come!
