BEFORE THE STORM
Earlier in the week before the Quarantine was ordered, I had done this shoot with my longtime friend Erika. She was definitely not having a great day, and maybe neither of us were. So we knew we needed to do something to occupy ourselves.
She had brought this outfit for another idea and was just trying it on when I said we should shoot in it on it’s own around my new place. Since I like a minimalist, spartan design, my plain white walls were perfect for this new lingerie set. She and I both loved the results, and though they aren’t that exotic or creative, I think they are simple, elegant images.
The older I become, the less I feel the need to retouch a lot of my images, nor do I have the patience to create elaborate set-ups. This series with Erika is a perfect example that even the simplest of ideas can bear fruit.
I hope you’ll all enjoy this intimate series. Erika, as you all know, is one of my favorite people I’ve ever had the honor of calling a friend. I hope you can all continue doing your best out there in this crazy world. Please be kind to each other and stay safe.
