Commenting a year later. Yukinon wasn't disgusted or anything. She was afraid, always afraid- just like Hachiman. Afraid to show affection, afraid to hurt or get hurt. She could not face that much real emotion in just one second, she only knew to run. But that was not any kind of rejection. Only fear and confusion.

2025-04-24 20:52:28 +0000 UTCWhile Yuki may seem harsh for refusing to help with his request and then running off you have to remember that Hachi had all night and Sensei's help to prepare for this and think about what it is he really wants. He shows up still blaming himself for everything and then when that doesnt work just says he wants the real thing without really explaining what that means. Considering she's also never had friends before I don't blame her for panicking seeing Hachi break down. It's sort of foreshadowed during the camp when she made Yumeko cry and also ran away from the situation.
