I just love how confused he is at their reactions, cos our boy has not felt loved in a long time. He's so numb to being hurt, so used to rationalizing his pain with mental gymnastics logic that he is soo lost on the feelings of other people caring about him. I suggest you read the lyrics of the opening. As calm and carefree as the song and vocals sounds.. the lyrics focus on the emotional themes of the season, maybe series in general. Lyrics about a scary unknown future, wanting to change, and seeking something genuine.. not an idealized facade.
