YOU CAN’T GO HOME AGAIN
As most people who follow my work know, Erika is one of my favorite people both to know and work with. She is kind-hearted, sweet, yet strong and never really afraid to convey to you her opinions or if she thinks you’re doing something wrong.
She’s also grown more open and comfortable with herself again, and with doing so is open to more uncensored imagery, much to everybody’s delight. This series was taken in the tall grass after some recent local rains on the Central Coast. It rains so infrequently that both people and mother nature react wildly to the weather. Grass grows tall, dormant seeds take root, and opportunities abound to capture old, familiar places in exciting new ways.
We drove out one weekday afternoon and just played in the grass for about two hours, changing outfits and as usual discussing people, places, things. Sharing our current relationships, posing questions, or simply bragging about how special each of our significant others are.
I love this special lady, and making these timeless images reminded me just how effortless and universal her images truly are. What do you think of this set??
