CALIFORNIA DREAMIN’
As mentioned before, Lauren is a new transplant to California from back east, but she fits in like a native West Coaster. Her natural sandy blonde hair, her laidback attitude, and her hunger to make on mark for herself in this world fit perfectly with the California sunshine. I consider myself very lucky to have finally worked with her.
It’s tough to fit in, to find a niche, to start working on your dream, but she is already a dynamo. Her goal is to design and sell a huge line of swimsuits, and her skills and work ethic are already incredibly impressive.
I often wonder how so many young people I know, who smoke a lot of weed and have part-time jobs, plan on getting the things they want to get done out of life when many of them simply don’t try. Don’t get me wrong, it took until my late twenties to get serious about my camera skills, but at least I already had been attending art classes and focusing on my building up my creative abilities. But I can’t tell you how many people I know who spend their time doing nothing yet complaining about not achieving their goals.
But Lauren is not one of them. She sets her alarm for 7am and even though she has a part time job, she works a full day before attending it on her own things, drawing out a physical calendar for every month, stitching, researching, designing, and completing quality projects. I was very impressed with her small apartment and how much she’s able to get done in such a limited amount of time. We should all be working as hard as this special lady!
We have plans to shoot again in the next month or so, stay tuned!
