PINK SLIP

I’m so proud of my dear friend Erika. She has evolved so much in the last several months. For years she struggled with her identity, debating whether to follow her passions, whether to just work and save money and settle down, whether to take risks or play it safe. About six months ago, she took a risk. She broke up with her long time boyfriend, moved back in with her mom, quit her longtime job, and found a new job, new friends, and new opportunities. She also found a new and unexpected level of happiness, and she even look different now because of it.

I met Erika in October of 2014. She was obviously beautiful, sure of herself, strong and confident, but she never knew whether to trust those feelings. She would often give in to those closest around her, let their emotions and desires win out over her own interests. She was timid in her personal life, though publicly could stand up for herself, take charge, and be a strong leader when it was required of her. But she was always holding herself back.

But now it’s 2018. She’s dating someone new, is traveling, having fun, and being far more social than she ever has been. Most importantly, she has hope in the future more so now than ever before. When we had this shoot a month ago, she was as confident and fun-loving as ever before, and I could easily see how much happier of a person she was than last summer. Enjoy this bright, sexy, energetic series, and I hope you can see the joy in her heart that has always struggled to show itself.
