DOUBLE SHOT

I figured I’d start off February featuring TWO folders of images of the great Carlotta Champagne, one of the most beautiful and curvaceous models I’ve ever worked with. I met her during a huge roundtable of models who were shooting at the Madonna Inn for a project that WAS NOT mine. However, it was nice that several of the models reached out to me and wanted to shoot, even though many had never met me before.

Carlotta is not known for being outgoing. Her personality is shy, quiet, and she rarely smiles. This isn’t a personal flaw in anyway, she just isn’t demonstrative about her feelings. But she is sweet. She seemed vulnerable, almost nervous, yet at the same time supremely confident. She was open with her body, not shy in showing it in any way, and occasionally, only briefly, smile at a joke of mine. Getting her to crack her veneer was a great success, and I counted three or four times that it happened, that she’d smile or give a slight laugh, which I knew was a great feat. 

She had purchased a room at the famous Madonna Inn just for her and I to shoot in, and we spent almost an hour shooting quickly in every corner of the place possible before a few other models arrived whom I had also agreed to shoot that same night. These two shoots were only the beginning of a whirlwind evening.

Carlotta had received the blue dress from some designer, and since it literally was just a collection of well-positioned strings, it was very difficult to put on. She kept putting her arms or legs through wrong holes, becoming only slightly flustered by it. As for the pink entryway to the room, I figured I had posed her in every other corner, so why not there?! As we were shooting her there, watching as she sexily stripped, her friends knocked on the door and a stream of models poured in. But that’s a story for another day.
