EXCUSE ME WHILE I KISS THE SKY
I’ve shot far too often at the dunes in the last two years, and frankly, I’m angry at myself for using it as a crutch. Much like taking photos of welding sparks or of children playing, it’s too damn easy to capture a good image at the dunes. And once again, I failed to capture anything but magic with Kaitlin on her recent visit back home from college.
Kaitlin, as many of you are now aware, is a genuine, natural beauty. Cute, young, fit, and open, she never fails to confidently stride through the world, taking it as it all comes. Whether she’s in bodysuits, dresses I’ve purchased from American Apparel, or in nothing at all, this special lady truly personifies the overused phrase “natural beauty.”
The day was unremarkable in my perfect little world. The air was light and warm, the wind was gentle and sweet, and the model was what you’d expect. We caught up on tales of her life at college, the boys she’s met now that’s she’s free of relationship entanglements, the drinking and experimenting she’s tried. She clearly hadn’t gained the famous “Freshman Fifteen” that many suffer. She was as cute as the day we met earlier this summer, and I’d venture to say even more attractive, having gained slightly more life experience.
This shoot seemed somewhat meaningless, and I tried to shake things up a bit here and there, but for the most part I had done this shoot several times before. I crave a challenge, and for as great as this series ended up, it hardly was a stretch of my abilities, sadly. I’m full of regrets these days.
Let me know what you think! Are you sick of Kaitlin yet?
