ELLA in LA, KACIE in NYC
This is the first of many double posts I’ll be sharing in the month of December as a “thank you” to all you loyal subscribers! The stories here are as diverse as the women in the images:
These images of Kacie are from 2012 when I was in NYC for a friend’s wedding. We snuck up onto the roof of her former apartment, so technically we had no legal reason to be up there, but that wasn’t going to stop us from shooting some cool stuff! Later several of these images became the cover image and inside feature of NSFW Magazine Issue 8, which also turned out to be our last issue. But that’s a story for another day.
The second series here is of Ella Nova, a beautiful and sweet woman who lives and works in LA as an adult actress. She’s been working in the industry for years, and yet still looks young and fresh-faced, which is of course why producers and directors love working with her.
When we met in the dilapidated home she lived in with several over women in the industry, I found her to be smart, savvy, and not afraid to speak her mind. I liked her right away, but I’m not sure if she was being genuine or putting on that act of being relatable in order to win me over. Still, the shoot went great, and this is the second part of the series I first posted maybe last month.
I chose to pair these women together because they are different sides of the same coin. They each show themselves off for the attention of others, both with varying degrees of self-destruction, and each has their own motives for why they crave fame and the limelight. I have strong opinions about both of these special ladies, and I hope you’ll enjoy these images as much as I did working with them. Enjoy!
