HOT PINK
Kayla, aka Porcelain, is one of my all-time favorite models to work with. So incredibly fun, positive, self-deprecating, and willing to try anything, Porcelain is just a doll. Her laugh is so loud and sincere and infectious, you really can’t help but fall in love with her.
So imagine my surprise and elation when she messaged me saying she and her boyfriend were coming back to the Madonna Inn for a random weeknight. Of course, this also sucked, since I was trying not to shoot due to drowning under a hefty backlog of images to edit. Still, since Porcelain lives in Seattle, I knew my opportunities to work with her are limited, so of course I said I’d figure out a time to make it happen.
On that Tuesday, I left my day job early and drove up the half hour to the Madonna, walking right into their perfect, pink room. She had laid out a variety of outfits for us to choose from, and since our aesthetics are usually pretty in sync and she looks great in anything no matter what, I knew this would be an easy day.
We ended up shooting three different looks, and I also happily was roped into shooting with her Friend Sierra McKenzie, who had been coming up from a different direction to the Madonna Inn, also. It was a busy day where I ended up shooting over 3000 images, which was both fun and exhausting, and stressed me out further when thinking about editing them all.
That was back in early September, and this is the first set I’ve finally gotten to editing. I hope you enjoy her as much as I do, I love these shots. What do you think?
