EN FUEGO
When I shot this series back in the spring of this year, I was going through an emotionally dark time. And though I’m always fairly reflective about my life and the world at large, I also remain optimistic about the future.
Life is hard, no one said it would be easy. But if we choose to not live in fear, if we strive to work hard, put in the effort, and do our best, there’s nothing we can’t achieve. Though these images convey a lot of dark moodiness, and the fire makes some people think of horror or terror, I see the flames as hope. Warmth. Comfort from the storm.
I know it’s easier to sometimes remain sad, depressed, to let the intensities of the world overwhelm you. But that’s what life is about, finding the good in the tough situations, making the most of what crap sandwich is handed to you. I’ve been lucky, luckier than most, and though I have regrets and know that there are things I probably never will achieve, I’ve learned to accept that.
Don’t get me wrong, I do my best, but I’m also realistic to know when my best isn’t good enough. And I’m finally learning that it’s ok. Am I the only one that struggles with this line of thought? Let me know what you think…
Send me your feedback, positive or negative, and feel free to leave comments in the box below or in my DMs! And thank you as always for your continued support!!
