THE RETURN OF CHASE

Chase Kennedy and I have a great yet uncertain working relationship. We might go weeks or even months without communicating with each other, but when our schedules line up and we meet up again, it’s as if someone has hit the un-pause button. Sometimes I feel like our conversations start up at almost exactly where we left off the last time.

This time was no exception: I drove up the coast to Montana de Oro state park, having her meet me just outside of the place. We met in the parking lot of a grocery store. She parked right next to me, stretched her long legs out of her car and into mine, and immediately started chatting in the middle of a sentence. Truly, it’s like no time had passed from our last meeting.

Being so long and tall (she is 6’4”, having the longest legs in the United States, look her up), she can be a bit awkward and clumsy at times. Still, she is a natural beauty, and making her look good is hardly difficult at all. We shot for about half an hour, and during a break, she asked if she could change. I had found this see-through knit sweater in my collection of women’s clothes at my house and thrown it in the back of my truck mindlessly. Somehow she saw it and liked it, so we shot in that.

A car had parked creepily up the hill about 100 yards, being able to have a perfect angle of her occasional nipple slips out of the outfit, and though she kept a careful eye on the guy, she never hesitated to keep posing.

As we began to pack up because I had another test shoot that same night with the now well-known Tazia, Chase asked if she could just get a few shots in a beige, long sweater she had. “I know it’s basic, she said, but what can I say, I’m a Basic Bitch. I love pumpkin spice anything, also!” And laughed to herself. I indulged her and shot a few quick images of her in that, then hurriedly got everything back into the vehicle, dropped her off back at her car, and poof. We were separated again.
