SEA CAVE
“How do I get down there?” Jessamyne asked in a nervous tone. We were standing on a rock looking down into a sea cave I’ve shot in for years, but it constantly is eroding, making it’s shape evolve into an ever more complicated space to climb into.
“I think we just have to go for it,” I said confidently, hiding the fact that I usually scrape my leg or hurt myself in some other way every time I’ve attempted to get down there.
Somehow, we both managed to climb down without killing ourselves, and soon we were lost in a labyrinth of mossy rocks that would be a paradise for anyone wanting a twisted ankle.
“What am I wearing first?” she asked innocently as a few stray children appeared from nowhere. I advised her to put on a sheer, peach bodysuit that matched her skin tone and hair perfectly, knowing that even the act of her beginning to change would drive the kids away. And it did.
Soon we were shooting inside the cave and out in the hot sun, while the tide slowly lapped in at a snail’s pace. We could see elephant seals basking in the rays out on the distant rocks while several seagulls swarmed overhead, clearly hoping to catch a glimpse of Jess as she bent over to climb the rocks.
After playing in the sun a while and having her bask on a few rocks, we climbed into a deeper part of the cave and had her pose in one of the side openings. Of course, she looked fabulous the entire time. Dipping her toes into the frigid water hardly distracted her at all, though my own feet were slowly growing numb in there. As usual, we laughed and joked about life while we shot, occasionally being interrupted by kids or a random parent who shocking jerked back when they realized what they were seeing.
Shooting with Jess is always a pleasure. She’s fun, outgoing, and such a genuine sweetheart. That cave shoot was a short and speedy event, barely lasting half an hour, but well worth the experience. As we climbed up the three flights of stairs back up to my vehicle, Jess paused and stared out at the sea, taking a few last photos, trying to memorize every last bit of it before we headed home.
Are you bored of Jessamyne yet? I know I’m not. Please leave comments or questions you have in the box below or in my DMs! I truly appreciate all of your continued support!!
