The nerd in me came out quickly when I told her that her shape, with voluptuous curves and a naturally thin waist, was akin to most female superheroes. She appreciated the praise but looked at me with a glazed look in her eyes, as though she were debating whether to be polite and ignore my dorky comic book reference outright or show her genuine disdain for how much of a nerd I really was. Either way, she remained silent and waited for me to awkwardly change the topic of conversation.
