Faceless Nude #244

Several years ago I was at a bar with a female friend who was joking that I need to find a girlfriend, or at least get laid more, as most of my women friends tell me. Almost immediately upon voicing this statement, my companion spotted a friend walking in, a tall, thin wisp of a woman who struck my fancy instantly, I'll call her Elaine.

Elaine was the kind of woman I'm a sucker for, or as my brother would say "She's not 'up your alley,' she 'lives in your alley.'" Funny, sarcastic, and hard-drinking, Elaine was the kind of woman I'd love to just be rejected by. As the night wound down and my original companion got tired, Elaine and I decided to go off together to another bar and continue the festivities, all while our mutual friend gave me the "go for it" hand gestures.

Two more bars passed, and soon it was after midnight and Elaine and I were lost in the moment, having discovered a strong, though uncertain connection between us. Since she was only visiting, we both admitted to not knowing if there was anything worth pursuing between serious between us in the long run, but at least in the moment we were having a great time.

Curious about my photography, I showed her a few images and was pleased that she found the images more artistic than pervy, saying flippantly that she'd like to model for me "maybe someday." "There's no time like the present!" I responded, and soon had her by the hand, leading her out into the parking lot as she laughed and stumbled the whole way, not putting up a fight in the slightest. We drove about ten minutes out of town, just far enough away from the city lights and passers-by. It took no convincing for her to strip in the middle of the road while I clicked away on my almost full memory card, which I had not cleared off from an earlier shoot and was just intoxicated enough not to remember.

It wasn't long after her clothes came off that we went back into my vehicle to get her warm again, and I'll only say I did a good job at that and vice versa.

In the morning we exchanged numbers and added each other to Facebook, as is the modern custom, and though we occasionally Like or Comment on random going-ons  presented in our digital lives, we haven't seen each other again. I don't regret that turn of events necessarily, though on lonely nights I do play a "what if" scenario in my mind.
