Kalani + Glitter = Art? (Pt. 4)

Soon she was pretty much covered, and we began shooting what we could with the winds playing havoc with the impending rain clouds, obscuring the sun and making the light constantly questionable. Also, at this point there were tourists who finally were awake and mobile, though the loudest tribe were carrying open containers and obviously drunk. Thankfully no one walked within a hundred yards of us, only catching a glimpse as they rose high on a dune and stopped to look around. Some were polite and just stared while others let out a holler or pulled out their cell phones.

Of course, I knew to just ignore them and keep working, knowing time is always a factor in public. Kalani, fairly chill and openminded unless you get in her face, just gave that slight mischievous grimace of hers and said nothing at all.

Definitely. Though I've been shooting at the dunes a lot lately, I love the simplicity of it, the minimalism of the horizon. I knew there would be a sci-fi aspect to this shoot, and I like how alien the dunes can look as well. Keep reading to see other observations I made. Thanks for the feedback, Kyle!

I really like this experiment and the location you choose for it. Was the dunes and all the sand that comes with them a conscious connection you made with the use of glitter?
