Why did I want to contribute to humanity colonising planets outside our solar system? To making a life for our species, for life itself so far as we’re aware, that isn’t dependent on the health of a single fragile sun? Is that even a question?
When did you learn about the convict slavery/kill switch thing, and what did you think of it?
Disgusting way to found a new society. Some traditions never die, I suppose.
Before coming, did you have any particular hopes for what the colony on Hylara would be like?
Stable and healthy. The details were the problem of experts. The important thing is survival – we couldn’t afford to fuck this up.
So far, we’ve fucked a lot of it up.
Any thoughts on what's going on with the people on Hylara?
No idea. They’re not particularly communicative. I’m sure the ground crew will find out.
