This week's Dropbox files have been updated with our latest build, featuring a story update, a system overhaul, a new mechanism, and more.

Story Update

This week’s story update is simple. Kate blindly attacks Rey, as he is a potential threat to the hive mind. To prevent her instincts from mauling him, Rey must consume hormones to be recognized as a hive drone. Since the hive's drones, like any others, are mostly infertile and female, this can't be good for his body...

New Systems Update: Week 1

This week's update is a major new system addition, and I've focused on laying the foundation for later updates. While the code is complex, you won't feel a drastic gameplay change just yet. Still, there will be enough of a difference for you to get the idea of the update itself.

Kate’s Affection System

Kate's affection, or "Love" as it's called in the game, has been added. It affects almost every other part of the game: the piercing and accessories node, Kate and Rey's body transformations, Rey's personal body mutation, game stats, and more. After Rey injects Ash's estrogen cocktail, he will be forced to choose from the three options shown in Image 1.

While Kate's mind isn't yet fully altered, he can try to persuade her to resist her instincts. If you succeed, you will escape unscathed. If not, you will get a status debuff (this is temporary and will be changed with a unique event in later updates). The success of the dice roll will be checked against your Love Meter with Kate. It starts at 100 but decreases by 20 with each encounter. Because of this, the player will be forced to rely on multiple sources to regain Kate's love.

The player can also follow Kate's "suggestion" and try consuming Insectoid fluids to change himself. You will be penalized for drinking potent hormones that affect the body, but you'll also regain Kate's love. Since this will be the most common option, various events and mutations related to it will be added to the game.

If the player is rebellious, they can refuse her options altogether. While this has no direct disadvantages, Kate's love will decrease by a large amount. If Kate's love falls below zero... well, let's just say I'm not planning on adding anything pleasant.

Kate's Event Portrait Change

While the branching events are currently a basic placeholder, the encounter event itself is fully working. Kate's event portrait will change based on her affection level. Starting with piercings, she will gradually wear thick makeup, change her attitude toward Rey, and become more corrupted.

Encounters with Kate & the Insectoid

Since the base mechanism is established this week, I will update the "cuckoldry" meter and various encounters with Kate and the Insectoid starting next week.
