Godfather System C103 Gathering of the underworld bosses

Two days passed, and the underworld trembled with anticipation. The time had come for the meeting of the top figures of the city's underworld, a gathering of the most notorious mob bosses in all of Los Angeles.

The luxurious lobby of the prestigious Biltmore Hotel was abuzz with hushed whispers and shifty glances, as the word of the highly secretive yet unprecedented meeting had spread like wildfire.

The Biltmore, with its glamorous Art Deco décor and impeccable reputation, had been chosen for its neutrality and discretion. A more suitable venue could not have been found, its elegance and exclusivity a testament to the importance of the impending event.

The hotel staff, clad in their finest uniforms, moved about the marble halls with professional poise, yet beneath their unflappable exteriors, anxiety simmered. The hotel manager, a portly man named Mr. Hendricks, paced the premises with a watchful eye and an even sharper tongue, ensuring that every detail was in place and every employee knew their role.

Word of the meeting's exclusivity had even reached the ears of the lowliest bellhop, and the air was charged with electric anticipation.

The L.A. Family's sleek black limousine rolled to a halt in front of the Biltmore Hotel's grand entrance. A flurry of activity ensued as the hotel staff scurried to open the vehicle's doors and lower the steps. Out stepped the infamous Jack Dragna, the Family's fearsome boss, followed by his equally intimidating brother, Tom, the consigliere, and flanked by their burly man, Louis Tom Dragna, a trusted made man.

The trio swept through the lobby, their faces impassive, but their eyes alert to their surroundings. The hotel staff bowed and scraped in their wake, their voices hushed in deference to the powerful men.

They were ushered into a private suite on the top floor, the long, polished mahogany table dominating the room. Jack took his seat at the head of the table, while Tom and Louis stood behind him, their hands resting casually but noticeably on their holsters.

Tom puffed on his stogie, the smoke curling around his head as he spoke, "I've got a few ideas on who the 'Wolf Familia' boss might be, based on our informants' reports."

Jack nodded, his gaze thoughtful yet cold as ice, "We can't assume anything. This 'Wolf Familia' boss could be a puppet, a front for someone more powerful." He took a long drag on his cigar, savoring the bitter smoke before exhaling slowly. "Besides, this isn't just a simple turf war anymore. I just got word that the McAfee Syndicate in Vegas have fallen prey to the Wolf Familia. They've taken over their operations like it's nothing. Whoever's pulling their strings means business."

Tom Dragna sighed. "You're always so cautious, brother. We've been established in this city for years, long before this 'Wolf Familia' even appeared on the scene a few months ago."

Jack fixed his cold, piercing gaze on Tom. "That's exactly why we need to be careful. They've made significant progress in Los Angeles's underworld in such a short time. It reeks of East Coast mafia backing, just like that damn Bugsy."

Tom's expression darkened at the mention of Bugsy Siegel, a rival mobster who had once managed to outmaneuver the L.A. Family and establish his own gang in Los Angeles and even in Las Vegas.

Tom sighed in silence. He knew his brother's nature: cautious and scheming, preferring to plot and maneuver rather than rush into action. That cautious attitude had seen Jack rise to become the boss of the L.A. Family, but Tom couldn't help but feel it had also allowed ambitious upstarts like Bugsy to gain power. As the consigliere, Tom preferred a more direct approach, but he knew better than to openly challenge Jack's methods.

As they continued their hushed discussion, Louis, the made man, approached them with a manager of the hotel in tow. The manager whispered something in Louis's ear, who in turn turned to the Dragna brothers. "Boss, the boss of the 3rd Street Gang has arrived."

Jack Dragna nodded curtly, "Very well, show him in." He then turned to Tom and said, "We'll table the discussion about the Wolf Familia for now. We've got other families to appease."

Tom nodded in silent agreement.

A minute later, Javier "Javi" Mendoza, the lean, athletic boss of the 3rd Street Gang, sauntered in, flanked by his two burly enforcers. His sharp features and cold gaze didn't betray any emotion, but Tom L.A. knew better. As a consigliere, Tom stood up to greet him.

"It's been a while, Boss Mendoza." Tom extended his hand, and Javier nodded in response before shaking it firmly.

Javier then moved on to hug Jack L.A., the Don of the L.A. Family.

"I'm grateful you called this meeting, Don Dragna." Javier said, his voice tinged with gratitude.

Jack smiled, "We're always glad to host an esteemed guest," he replied with a polite smile. The pleasantries over, they all took their seats.

"How are you faring, Javi?" Jack asked, feigning concern.

Javier forced a smile. "I'd be doing fine... if it weren't for that damn 'Wolf Familia'." He spat out the name like a curse. "They've been taking over my territories left and right, and I'm losing men every damn day."

Tom and Jack exchanged knowing glances. "I can understand," Jack said, his voice laced with just the right amount of empathy.

As Javier vented his frustrations, Tom and Jack knew exactly what he was hoping for: the L.A. Family's support against the Wolf Familia. If the L.A. Family joined forces with the 38th Street Gang, they might stand a chance against the upstarts.

Jack and Tom observed Javier Mendoza's frustration, knowing full well that he was expecting some kind of reaction from them. They had their own problems to deal with, but they couldn't help but feel a twinge of satisfaction at Javier's misfortune.

Just as Javier was mid-rant, Louis, informed them of another arrival – Ricardo "Rico" Alvarez, the muscular, dark-haired boss of the 38th Street Gang.

Jack and Javier greeted him warmly. Tom knew that despite their rivalry, they would put aside their differences when a bigger threat loomed over them all.

"Gentlemen," Rico said, flashing a confident smile. "I'm glad to see we're all here for the same reason."

"Indeed," Jack replied. "Have a seat, Rico. We were just catching up with Javier here."

Rico took a seat, his dark eyes narrowing. "I take it you've heard about the Wolf Familia's latest power grab?"

Javier scoffed. "Who hasn't? They've been taking over my territory like it's nothing!"

Rico nodded, his jaw clenching. "And mine too, Javi. And I won't stand for it. The question is, what are we going to do about it?"

As the other bosses discussed ways to handle the Wolf Familia, Tom couldn't help but notice his brother's silence. He knew Jack was up to something, but what, he couldn't quite figure out.

Tom watched as Manuel "Manny" Ramirez, the boss of the Diamond Street Gang, entered the room. Tensions immediately flared up between him and Javier. It was no secret that the 3rd Street and Diamond Street Gangs had a long-standing feud, but recent events had pushed them into an uneasy alliance against the Wolf Familia.

"Boys, in this meeting, we forget about our feuds," Jack said, his voice firm but reasonable. "Today, in this room, we are all friends."

Javier and Manny exchanged a look, each seeming to weigh the other's intentions before finally taking a seat. They couldn't afford any infighting right now, not when they had a bigger threat to deal with.

Manuel was the first to break the silence. "I see that the 'Wolf Familia' hasn't graced us with their presence yet, huh?"

Tom nodded and said, "Yeah, it looks like the gang isn't too thrilled to see us."

Everyone laughed at that.

As they waited for the "Wolf Familia" to arrive, the bosses began to discuss the up-and-coming gang's growing power and influence in the city.

"You know, they're quickly becoming the most powerful gang in the city," Manuel said, trying to provoke a reaction from the L.A. Family. "They're eyeing everything we've worked so hard for, and I wouldn't be surprised if they were running our lives tomorrow."

Ricardo and Javier, bosses of their respective gangs, knew that Manuel was baiting them, but instead of diffusing the situation, they added fuel to the fire.

"I agree," Ricardo chimed in, shocking everyone as he nodded in agreement with his usual rival, Manuel. "Have you seen their connections to the LAPD and the politicians? They're impenetrable."

Jack and Tom exchanged knowing glances. They were no fools; they knew the other bosses were baiting them, hoping to provoke a reaction that would drive them into a premature strike against the Wolf Familia. However, Jack and Tom were seasoned enough to see through their intentions. They understood the importance of gathering information before making any rash decisions.

As the bosses around them continued to vent their frustrations, Rico finally turned to Jack, "So, Jack, what do you say? Are you with us, or are you going to let these wolves keep running our city?"

Tom tensed, waiting for his brother's response.

Jack took a puff of his cigar, exhaling the smoke before speaking. "I believe this meeting was called for a friendly discussion," he said, his voice smooth as silk, yet cold as ice. "And the Wolf Familia is also invited. We're here to establish an agreement on how things will be in the underworld of this city."

Tom couldn't help but be impressed at the way his brother could diffuse a situation with just a few words.

Jack continued, "We can talk about eliminating a gang when and if they don't abide by the laws we discuss here today."

The room fell silent, the tension thick enough to cut with a knife. The other bosses exchanged glances, knowing that Jack had a point. They wouldn't be able to take down the Wolf Familia without solid proof of their misdoings, and they all knew it.

"Fair enough," Rico finally said, feigning defeat. "We'll see how this meeting goes. But don't expect us to wait forever, Jack."

The room fell silent as the double doors at the end of the room swung open, revealing their guests of dishonor. Everyone turned their heads in unison to see two figures striding in, exuding an aura of power that could rival the most formidable of mob bosses in the room.

The man at the front wore a luxurious tuxedo, his face concealed by a golden mask that glinted in the dim light, reminiscent of a wolf's visage. His every step oozed confidence and elegance, complemented by the gold-tipped cane in his hand, a symbol of both status and potential deadliness.

Beside him, another masked figure followed, this one adorned with an angelic visage, just as opulent as his boss.

What was most surprising, however, was that the "Wolf Familia" boss had brought only one man with him, in contrast to the other bosses who had brought at least two bodyguards each.

Tom and Jack exchanged glances, both of them understanding the message being sent by their new rival. The wolf was unafraid, and he was here to establish dominance from the start.

The golden masked man swept the room with a cold gaze, his features hidden but his intent crystal clear. He stopped in the center of the room, his bodyguard taking up a position behind him.

"Gentlemen," the wolf boss purred, his voice smooth as butter and as lethal as a switchblade. "I see you've all gathered to welcome the new top dog to your little pack. How... quaint."
