He meticulously searched the thugs for any personal belongings or money, ultimately laying his hands on a wallet brimming with cash. Saitama seized the money and casually flung the wallet at one of the thugs, remarking, "I'll consider this payment for the truck's broken window."
With that, Saitama returned to the truck's location, where Videl gazed at him with admiration in her eyes.
Saitama scratched the back of his head as he inspected the shattered glass inside the truck. "It's a good thing I managed to retrieve some money from them... I hope I won't get in trouble for returning with the truck damaged..."
Videl, standing nearby, looked upon Saitama with admiration and asked, "Mister, are you a martial artist?"
Saitama chose to ignore Videl as he removed the remaining shards of glass from the truck's seat.
"Mister Baldy!" Videl blurted out once more but quickly covered her mouth in a panic. She had slipped up.
Saitama, engrossed in examining the truck's condition, suddenly froze. His vacant eyes seemed to gaze ahead, and they slowly turned red as the veins on his forehead and face darkened, casting a shadow over his expression.
Videl couldn't help but tremble slightly, sensing that Saitama was irate about her calling him "baldy."
Worriedly, she started to apologize, "I, I'm sorry—"
But her words were cut short as Saitama muttered in anger, "Those guys turned my meal into a feast of shattered glass!"
It was only now that Saitama remembered he had left his food on the side of the driver's seat, which was dangerously close to where the burly thug shattered the truck's window.
"Damn it. This was the limited barbecue and udon noodles with a special flavor from that restaurant!" Saitama exclaimed through clenched teeth.
"I'm having such bad luck today..." Saitama sighed helplessly as he painstakingly picked the shattered glass off the udon noodles and the barbecue.
He had completely forgotten that Videl was standing beside him.
Observing that Saitama seemed oblivious to what she had called him, Videl breathed a sigh of relief and offered, "Mister, are you upset because your food got contaminated with shattered glass? I can have my chefs prepare that for you if you'd like."
Saitama, who had been preoccupied with his task, suddenly flinched and turned to Videl.
He had initially overlooked Videl's presence because he was concerned about the truck's condition, but now he was taken aback by what she had just mentioned.
It suddenly dawned on him that he was standing next to a character from Dragon Ball Z.
"Oh, hey. What do you want?" Instead of reacting to Videl's tempting offer of food, he inquired, his expression remaining neutral.
After all, he still had to return to the bank with the money; the bank manager had placed his trust in him.
Videl didn't seem to mind Saitama's demeanor and repeated, "My family's chef can prepare anything you desire."
Saitama didn't show much reaction and simply echoed, "Anything I want?"
Videl nodded eagerly.
Just as Videl was about to await Saitama's response, the sound of a helicopter approached from the distance.
Both Videl and Saitama turned their attention to the sky as a helicopter suddenly came into view.
A man in a black suit leaned out of the helicopter and urgently called, "Ms. Videl! It's dangerous here!" The helicopter landed right on the open road near Videl.
The man quickly disembarked and rushed toward Videl's location.
"Ms. Videl! Your father is extremely worried! Let's go! Someone reported a robbery and mentioned a monster that appeared out of nowhere and wrecked cars!" The man spoke rapidly, his worry evident. "We've already contacted the authorities, and judging from the looks of it, those must be the cars the monster trashed. Let's get out of here quickly!" He pointed at the badly damaged sports cars belonging to the thugs in the distance.
"No! I won't be returning for a while. Please convey that to my father," Videl responded with a snort. She didn't bother to explain further, as these people usually only paid attention to her father.
"Ms. Videl! I'll be in big trouble if I don't bring you back!" The man appeared helpless as he tried to persuade Videl.
Videl disregarded the man and directed her gaze at Saitama.
Seeing this, Saitama simply said, "Perhaps another time. I'll be back for work." He then took a seat in the driver's seat and closed the door.
"Wait!" Videl tried to stop Saitama and even attempted to jump into the truck, but the man restrained her.
The truck drove off into the distance, leaving Videl helpless.
Frustrated, Videl pushed the man away.
"What are you doing, Ms. Videl?" The man stared at her inquisitively. "Do you know that bald man?"
Videl snorted and glared at him, "Don't call him bald! He's much better than you!" She turned away from the man and walked toward the helicopter, boarding it.
The man sighed helplessly, and as he followed her into the helicopter, he wondered if Videl knew the bald man.
However, as Videl leaped inside the helicopter, she seemed to give some instructions to the pilot. The helicopter then lifted off and soared away, leaving the man bewildered on the ground.
He was momentarily dazed and shouted after the departing helicopter in the sky, "Ms. Videl! Don't leave me here!!!"
Videl chuckled as she watched the representative of her father being left behind.
"Follow that truck and see where it's headed!" Videl repeated her order to the pilot.
"Understood," the pilot replied obediently, though he couldn't fathom why he had to trail that truck.
Nonetheless, he didn't question it and simply followed Videl's instructions.
