SETW C2 Unbearable conditions

Saitama finally arrived at his designated apartment, feeling both exhausted and elated at the same time, relishing the physical activity he had missed in his previous life.

As he approached the apartment, he noticed that, in this Dragon Ball world, the apartment was remarkably advanced and well-maintained compared to his previous life.

Curious creatures of all sorts, some resembling dogs and others even more bizarre, stared at Saitama with a perplexed expression. Saitama couldn't help but find everything amusing, with giraffes and lions casually walking and talking on the streets.

While people regarded him as the strange one, Saitama suppressed his laughter and shifted his focus.

"Systen, have I completed the tasks?" Saitama inquired, his exhaustion evident on his face. However, he still felt energized due to his good mood.

[Host, you have not yet completed the tasks, including enduring the apartment without air conditioning and strengthening your resistance.] The mechanical voice resounded in Saitama's mind.

"Alright, let's head into the apartment," Saitama said as he entered. Inside, despite the advanced exterior, the scene resembled Saitama's previous apartment. Perplexed, Saitama sought an explanation from the system.

[Host, since you are following the Saitama Guidebook's training, the system has recreated the same apartment and environment inside the prepared apartment. Even the weather is controlled by the system to replicate the conditions of the original Saitama's training.]

"Oh, I see," Saitama nodded, accepting the explanation. It didn't matter to him; he considered it an improvement compared to his previous bedridden life.

He entered his room and noticed that there was a pair of original Saitama's pajamas, the same ones used during the training, and a table set with a bunch of bananas.

Saitama decided to take a shower and change into the pajamas. What awaited him, however, felt like a trip to hell.

The system was not joking. The apartment was sweltering, even though he had just showered.

Exhausted, he couldn't help but lie back down after the training. Now, he began to truly appreciate the challenge. He could handle the 10-kilometer run, 100 push-ups, and 100 sit-ups with his newfound strength, but enduring this sweltering heat after physical exercise felt like pure torture.

"Is this for real? My vision... it's starting to get blurry..." Saitama spoke with clear exhaustion in his voice.

This was it—this was what Saitama went through during his training. He even contemplated giving up.

Frustrated, Saitama clenched his teeth and shouted, "No! I can't give up! I can't!!!"

[The system:...]

"It's just heat! I'll take another shower!"

Saitama was about to get up but froze as the system chimed in.

[Host, you can shower as often as you'd like, but each shower will incur additional charges on your bills.]

"What do you mean!? Aren't the bills already covered by you!?"

[Host, the system only provided an apartment, a place for you to live that mimics the Original Saitama's living conditions for you to fully experience his training guidebook. However, bills and other expenses unrelated to your transformation into Saitama are not covered by the system. This means you must find a way to pay your bills and cover your necessities like food while continuing your training.] the mechanical voice of the system explained.

"You're not human!" Saitama exclaimed in anguish. Until now, he had been carefree, but after experiencing Saitama's hardships, he found it unbearable.

[Host, please do not mistake my intelligence for that of a living organism. You are correct. I am not human, but rather an intelligent system programmed to assist you in your journey to become Saitama.]

"Ugh..." Saitama couldn't argue with that. He had almost forgotten that the System was not human.

Regardless, he needed to adapt to these conditions. He had wished for this, and now he understood the saying, "Be careful what you wish for." If Julius or Saitama had known earlier, he might have wished to become Superman instead.

Nonetheless, there was no point in being ungrateful. Saitama needed to find a job; otherwise, he might starve soon.

The system had made it clear that it would not provide necessities like food, and he had to pay his own bills.

'I guess everyone has bills to pay... I need to come up with a survival strategy. Are there any discounted stores nearby for foods? I need to find out...'

With determination, despite his exhaustion, Saitama took action.
