Chapter 118

Q: Does the Shark Giant swim forward in the water while lying down, or does it swim forward while standing up?
A: It swims however it wants to.
Whether it's strolling underwater, leisurely swimming, or half of its body exposed above the water, it can do it all, feeling completely unscientific.
Adrian felt that riding in the cockpit of the Shark Giant was like sitting in a submarine, even though he hadn't actually been in one before.
Tom was practically pouncing on the screen, eagerly watching the fish outside.
Adrian quickly hugged Tom, fearing that he might get overly excited and dismantle the Shark Giant.
"Sharkler, do you and the Shark Giant need to consider water pressure issues when diving?" Adrian asked.
Sharkler replied, "No need to worry. Both my body and the Shark Giant have automatic pressure regulation systems, just like the instincts of fish."
Rui Mengmeng suddenly had an idea, "Oh? Can we just go to Fish-Man Island like this? Can the Shark Giant dive to a depth of ten thousand meters?"
"The Shark Giant can handle it, but you guys can't," Sharkler said, "The air in this small room is limited. It's fine for a short time, but if you can't reach Fish-Man Island within an hour, you'll run out of oxygen."
The deep sea was indeed troublesome, with various large sea beasts and sea kings, as well as all sorts of chaotic currents. If you recklessly ventured, you might easily be swept away to unknown places.
Adrian suggested, "Maybe we can prepare oxygen tanks, or use a method here to give the Shark Giant a coating?"
"Perhaps we can give it a try. I'll go find those shipbuilders from last time and learn about coatings." Sharkler thought of those enthusiastic shipbuilders. If tuition was required, performing another Super Transformation should suffice.
"Also, Boss Adrian, I was thinking that I might become a navigator. In terms of familiarity with the ocean, none of us can surpass me. Although I'll need to reacquaint myself with the oceans of this world."
"If you want to give it a try, of course that's fine. We can buy some books about ocean currents and meteorology when we get back... and Tom can learn with you." Adrian naturally wouldn't object. If Sharkler had that talent, it would be great, and if not, Tom surely had the talent.
"A sea beast is approaching from the right rear." Artoria spoke up, detecting the target before the Shark Giant did.
"Good, let's head over!" Sharkler pulled the control stick, directing the Shark Giant to turn and face the unknown sea beast.
After about ten seconds, they could finally see the appearance of the sea beast. It had a lion's body and a fish's tail, and according to the naming convention here, it should be called a "Sea Lion." It was slightly larger than the Shark Giant.
Upon spotting the Shark Giant, the Sea Lion didn't show any fear at all. It bared its teeth and claws and lunged at them.
"Shark Fin Slashing Ship Cutter!" Sharkler pressed a button and pulled the control stick.
The Shark Giant's right hand swung the Ship Cutter, creating a large gash on the Sea Lion's body, nearly splitting it in two.
The Sea Lion promptly rolled its eyes and floated belly-up on the water's surface.
"It's been beaten up so easily. There's no way to showcase the Shark Giant's power." He said this while secretly satisfied, clenching his fist.
"This aquatic combat ability is quite formidable." Regular ships were no match for sea beasts like these. This move alone could make members of some pirate crews end up in the water. Adrian then asked, "How about the power of the cannon in the Shark Giant's left hand?"
"It's time for him to give it a try." Sharkler controlled the Shark Giant to resurface, raising its left hand and aiming at the unfortunate Sea Lion.
"Shark Fire Cannon!" A beam of golden light shot out from the cannon's barrel, piercing through the Sea Lion's body and creating a high column of water on the sea's surface.
"I..." Adrian nearly let out a curse, "Isn't this Kizaru's laser?!"
Promising a cannon and then delivering a laser? These technique names were just meant to deceive people, right?
With some remedial lessons from Sharkler, Adrian was aware of the person Kizaru, "Now that you mention it, it does seem somewhat similar to the abilities of Admiral Kizaru that were reported in the newspaper. However, I'm not sure if the power can compare."
During the conversation, Sharkler reverted to his small shark form, and the Shark Giant's Shark Fire Cannon and Ship Cutter returned to their original positions.
"Ah, it's transformation time." Sharkler patted his stomach, "I might need to eat something."
Having the Shark Giant move the Sea Lion onto the shore, everyone jumped out of the cockpit one by one to barbecue, and with a wave of Sharkler's hand, the Shark Giant vanished.
Watching the meat disappear into Sharkler's mouth one after another, Adrian seemed to understand where the energy to maintain the Shark Giant came from.
After eating, they each engaged in training. Adrian swam in the water to improve his physical fitness, while Sharkler took the opportunity to demonstrate his underwater abilities.
Even without performing a Super Transformation, he could swim at an astonishing speed. He probably surpassed regular sharks by a significant margin.
Tom was quite the playful one. He had Sharkler tie a rope around him and tow him while he happily surfed on a surfboard, dubbing it a form of exercise.
Adrian found it interesting and tried tying the rope around his waist and having Tom tow him while swimming. However, he was met with disdain.
He wasn't swimming fast enough; it wasn't exciting at all.
By the time they finished training and returned near noon, they had removed the prime cuts from the sea beast's body, leaving the rest to be fed to the fish in the sea.
Adrian said, "If these things can attract Sea Kings, that would be great. We can try hunting Sea Kings."
"No problem," Sharkler said, "I can take care of diving underwater to find and lure Sea Kings. Then I'll let them experience the might of the Shark Giant."
Adrian felt that today they were hunting sea beasts, and tomorrow they'd be hunting Sea Kings. The Shark Giant was gradually turning into a Fish-Killing Giant.
Artoria immediately chimed in, "I agree. It's a good opportunity for me to practice swordsmanship."
Deceiving people, she only wanted to try Tom's cooking skills.
"Boss Adrian, I've spotted a wanted criminal." Just as they were getting close to the tavern, Sharkler spoke up.
At this point, Sharkler's field of vision split into three sections. The right side showed the normal view that a human would see, but the focus was on a particular pedestrian. The left side was further divided into upper and lower sections.
The upper half displayed an image from a wanted poster, while the lower half showed the person's basic information:
- Name: Hyde
- Age: 25
- Gender: Male
- Bounty: 500,000 Berries
Reason for Bounty: In the 1508 Sea-Year, robbery
; in the same year, June, robbery and murder of one person.
"You have this function too?" Adrian was astonished. He knew that Sharkler could identify B-series robots' data, but he didn't expect it to also recognize wanted criminals.
"Yes, I remember you said you wanted to capture wanted criminals to earn money for buying a ship, so I included the wanted posters I found in newspapers when I was learning during sleep."
Just like identifying B-series robots, I simply changed it to facial recognition for humans. And facial recognition is something I could already do."
Sharkler had acquired these wanted posters during their last visit to the Marine branch. Over the past few years, there had been numerous criminals of all sizes appearing in the nearby waters. They piled up to a few hundred or maybe even a thousand posters. It was unexpected that Sharkler would use these too.
"Impressive. With just a glance, you can identify wanted criminals mixed in the crowd. Even those with bounties as low as a few hundred thousand berries won't escape notice. This is incredible!"
Adrian was delighted. He could only identify characters that had distinctive features from anime, and at best, he could remember a few recently recognized high-bounty individuals. He couldn't do something as detailed and comprehensive as this.
Sharkler asked, "So, should we capture him?"
"Of course, we should. He's a murderer."
Hyde, head, and he was simply delivering heads to people.
