May 1st.
The day "Doraemon: Nobita's Dinosaur" was released.
The students of Class 1-B at Teitan High School were immersed in excitement. This was their first whole class activity since starting high school.
Even before school ended, the students couldn't wait to pack up their things.
When the final bell rang, everyone gathered at the school gate.
Sonoko had arranged for a bus to take everyone to the movie theater.
On the bus.
Two gossip-loving girls, Ayumi and Hikari, took on the role of comical emcees.
Hikari said, "Ahem~ Let's give a warm round of applause to our activity organizers, Keita-sama and Sonoko-sama!"
Clap clap~
Hikari used a bottle of mineral water as a makeshift microphone and handed it to Sonoko, asking, "Sonoko-sama, do you have anything you'd like to say to everyone?"
Sonoko stood up dramatically, raised her index finger, and proclaimed, "Ohohohoho, let the show begin!"
Such a character, that Sonoko.
This time, Keita had given the entire class premiere tickets.
When they arrived at the theater, there were many media reporters, and the production team was being interviewed.
After the interviews, the production team usually watched the movie with some critics, reviewers, and lucky audience members.
The theater where the production team was located was the main one. After the screening, they would go through another round of interviews with the media. In short, everything was for promoting the movie.
Of course, Keita and the classmates were in the adjacent theater, unrelated to all of that.
When the time came, the students settled down, and the screen began to play the movie.
"Doraemon: Nobita's Dinosaur" was based on a short story. It told the tale of Nobita, under the mockery of Takeshi, who, with his incredibly lucky circumstances, discovered a dinosaur egg fossil. Using the time blanket, Doraemon turned back time, ultimately hatching a pair of pteranodons. Nobita named one of them "Pisuke." As Pisuke grew, the town's monster legends grew, and Nobita had to part ways with Pisuke and return it to the Cretaceous period.
The movie continued from there, with Nobita and his friends going back to the Cretaceous period to help Pisuke return home. Along the way, they encountered dinosaur hunters and faced various challenges. With the help of his friends and the Future Time Patrol, Nobita succeeded in defeating the dinosaur hunters.
In the end, reluctantly, Nobita bid farewell to Pisuke and returned to the 20th century.
The movie was heartwarming and tear-jerking, with some differences from the original story, yet retaining its core essence. It filled people with admiration for the friendship among the characters. Although Nobita was reluctant to part with Pisuke, he understood that Pisuke belonged to the Cretaceous era, and the farewell was inevitable.
Nobita's character growth was evident in the movie. From hatching Pisuke to nurturing it, and finally bidding it farewell, he transformed from a boy who cried on Doraemon's shoulder to someone who could protect and let go. Nobita's emotional strength, portrayed throughout the movie, allowed viewers to grasp the essence of growth.
A simple and touching movie, with a story that tugged at the heartstrings. Perhaps it was due to this simplicity that it became one of the most classic works in the Doraemon movie series, leaving countless people with cherished childhood memories.
Because of this, it continued to grace the screens time and again.
After the screening, the classmates chatted for a while before heading home.
Keita, Sonoko, Shinichi, and Ran made plans to have dinner together.
Sonoko said, "I've become a big fan of Nobita. He's such a responsible guy."
It seemed that Nobita's character in the movie was well-received, even gaining the admiration of older female fans.
Keita added, "But only in the context of the movie."
Shinichi shifted the conversation towards the storyline, "Why didn't the Future Time Patrol capture them in the end?"
True to his nature, Shinichi.
Keita replied, "Maybe Nobita and the others are just part of history."
Ran said, "I envy the friendship among the five of them. They're willing to fight dinosaur hunters for their friends, even when those hunters are armed."
Sonoko tapped her head and commented, "In any case, it's a good movie. It's been a while since I watched a movie with my sister. How about I invite her to watch it together tomorrow?"
Keita agreed, "That's a good idea. Everyone can watch it with their families; it's suitable for all ages."
...
After the release of the Doraemon movie, Keita, Sonoko, and Ran began working at Future Inc. three times a week.
Ran had a strong interest in fashion from another world, while Sonoko was intrigued by various magical creatures.
Of course, Keita also paid them a salary. It seemed that Sonoko, in her first job, unleashed an astonishing combat ability after receiving her daily pay, creating several different monster designs.
During this period, the secretary, Sakuraho Mizutani, reported that a company had commissioned Future Inc. to develop software. However, with Future Inc. busy developing a chatbot and working on Sword Art Online, Keita turned down the request.
The key technology in Sword Art Online was "consciousness dive."
After obtaining the "Cocoon" game pod technology, Keita approached Dr. Agasa for advice.
If Future Inc. was unparalleled in the software field, then Dr. Agasa was a hardware genius.
The core technology of the game pod was consciousness scanning and neural connection. Keita hoped that Dr. Agasa could miniaturize it, ideally to the size of a helmet, as depicted in the original.
Time always flew by in a busy manner. In the blink of an eye, the end of the first semester was approaching, and summer vacation was on the horizon.
Neon students had three semesters, corresponding to three vacations: summer vacation, winter vacation, and spring vacation.
During this period, Sonoko worked on designing magical creatures, Ran focused on designing fashion, Dr. Agasa worked on miniaturizing the game pod, and Keita managed the projects.
Shinichi felt a bit left out.
One day after school, Shinichi stopped the three of them.
"Where are you three headed?" Shinichi asked, a tinge of jealousy in his tone.
"Hey, who are you?" Sonoko taunted with a smirk.
"Sonoko~. Shinichi, we're going to Keita's company. We're working on a game. Do you want to come with us?" Ran said.
"He's probably going to help the police solve a case again. Seriously, he leaves his woman behind and deals with corpses every day. Pathetic," Sonoko mocked.
"Sonoko~" Ran complained, while Shinichi blushed.
Keita looked at the two and suggested, "You should confess to each other and get together."
"Keita, you're getting ahead of yourself. Actually, I wanted to invite you to New York, Ran," Shinichi said, somewhat
embarrassed.
Oh, heading to New York. Is this the starting point of the Great Detective? I remember the original story mentioning that this was Shinichi's first independent case. Of course, by now, Shinichi had already made his debut as a detective.
And then, during the New York case, Ran finally realized her feelings for Shinichi.
It's a memorable place, but too bad, Keita had plans to pursue Sonoko. Otherwise, he'd also want to go to New York.
