[BTS] Every now and then…

(Shouting out Delaney Bailey’s new song While My Lady Sleeps which I didn’t even get a full minute through before not only falling in love with it but pointing and saying ‘THAT’S THE SOUND!’)

Over the last few months every now and then I’d pick up my guitar and try to discover a sound. Not just any sound. And not just a sound to build something off of. But the sound of Lavendher. Ive strummed a few chords and found it sometimes but not always a progression or pairing that still achieved what I was looking for. It’s been a long time since the first time someone asked for original music and since then many more who asked for something ‘as simple as’ covers to be available on music platforms. As hard and as time consuming as the covers would be due to licensing and mixing, I figure it makes the most sense to release something of my own first. So, while it’s been a slow process, I am hoping the slow churning of this song I’m writing will be evident in the end result.

I know it’s not a guarantee this is the melody I will use for the song but it’s the closest I’ve been in a long time. And I’m happy about that. :)

Also thinking how excited I am and CAN BE about the recording process when we get to the mixing & mastering end of the song production since that usually takes lots of takes when I watch or listen to producers give their experience in the industry. The energy in my body just drains from me when I imagine having to triple the amount of takes due to the alien droning near 👽 🤣 Phew.
