Added 2025-08-15 14:23:54 +0000 UTCTypically the first form for newcomers to Loam is that of the graymen (technically they're called Lutums but nobody calls them that). Usually they're just fodder for preds, victims of mass vore scenarios, or just a quick snack. After a while they'll eventually settle into a form that better reflects themselves or at least how they perceive themself. However, every now and then there will be a graymen that actually prefers this nondescript form.
For Victor, being seen as an average unimportant nobody is perfect for him. The way he sees it, preds are much more likely to lower their guard when they try to make a meal out of him, meaning that he can easily reversal the situation, and turn them into his lunch. Other graymen also are less suspecting of him being a potential glutton, believing his stories of his extra large belly being the result of a huge breakfast, and that he doesn't know where their buddy went, even though he was the last to be seen with them! Although his bad habit of not digesting bones tends to give him away.
Victor does get eaten regularly like every other graymen though. He doesn't see it coming, isn't fast enough to get away or is just too close to a grumbling stomach. But he doesn't mind it that much, it just comes with the territory. Sometimes you eat and sometimes you get eaten. He has thought that his desire to cling to his graymen form does hold him back every now and then, but he doesn't really picture himself as being anything else. Maybe someday he'll settle on a more unique form, but for now he's just enjoying being another blade of grass in the world.
