October 2020 Newsletter

Greetings sweeties! 

Alright, so I know we're a little more than a week into the month but I wanted to fill you in on things that have happened and things that have changed. 

BEHIND THE SCENES TIER CHANGES

$3 tier is dead and all its belongings now go to the new $2 tier. I urge all previous patrons of the old $3 tier to move down to $2. Today I will be going through all my past posts and adjusting them to be available to the new tier. 

For anyone at the $1 tier who might be interested in moving up, just know that for that extra dollar you're getting to read episodes of Jamie in it's rawest form. See below :) I always do my best to include as much detail as I can and in this phase you can even give feedback before the page is finished and posted for everyone else. I also post bts content of other projects when I work on them time to time. For example, I shared a few panels of my next book NORTHRANGER's test pages a little while ago :O

VINYL STICKERS ARE HERE TO STAY

From August to September I went through the effort of reprinting vinyl versions of previous sticker rewards for every patron in the $5 and $10 tiers who were active in August. So it was about 700 stickers that Tami and I hand cut because the cricut cutting machine cannot be trusted. I regret nothing though, because they all came out so good, and I was so happy to mail them all out to you earlier this month. Please let me know if there is a extended delay for your letters arrival. I'll be sure to keep an eye on my PO box for any returns. 

Moving forward, all new $5 and $10 patrons will be receiving Laminated Vinyl stickers. So you can put them on your car, your water bottle, your skateboards or computers :) I am so happy to be able to finally provide more quality rewards for you since I wouldn't be here without you!

Page 157 marks the end of chapter 5, book 1, and the end of the revision 8)
I'm so excited to get to finally move forward with this project. I've learned so much to this point and I can only hope that I'll continue to grow and stay confident in my creative decisions. I have to thank the Patrons that chat with me in our discord server and contribute their feedback on the story from time to time. I like to think we have become good friends and I appreciate you so much. Thank you!

Additionally, I'll be doing any final edits on chapter 6 before starting thumbs and we'll be seeing brand spanking new content starting November *tries not to hyperventilate* Is this really happening!? Ahh! 

PERSONAL UPDATES

I started roller skating I guess? Im not very good at it, but I have been indoors for... like 8 months now except when I was moving into the new apartment and grocery shopping, so I need to get some sun. I'm going pale, I'll be a bog witch with the wild hair and bad posture in no time at this rate. Do you all do any outdoor activities during these times? Picked up a new hobby?

Here are my handed down skates. They're super Guy Fieri aesthetic but I don't hate it. However, if I manage to stick to the hobby, I'll invest in my own skates. Though, I don't know if I will stick with 2x2, maybe inline instead.

A few weeks ago, I was commissioned for an illustration, and asked to take part in a webinar with Weird Enough Productions and The Peace Studio. We talked about how we imagine the future and the steps we can take to usher in a brighter future for everyone. I ramble a bit, but I hope that you can tell where my heart is.

Then, on the 22nd at 7 pm I'll be taking part in a panel for OceanCon, a convention taking place in the Oceanside Library of New York about Womxn of color in Comics. I'll be joined by Wendy Xu, and Steenz Stuart and I'm only a lotta bit nervous but super excited at the same time! 

Lastly, Tami and I have been giving our new home some thought in how we wanna decorate it and make it feel more cozy. Any ideas? For my office, I should be able to buy a standing desk tomorrow so that I can...idk, not spend 8+ hours sitting each day? HAha, wish me luck.

I hope that you're all holding in there okay with all the changes happening in the world still. 2020 has been rough but I am so thankful that you have all stuck around and supported the creation of Jamie. I've been doing my best to keep up with my creative energy to give you all something nice when things get too tiring. Please hold in there and know I wuv you!
