Future project annoucement! + mini preview

Hi, guys, I've been working on this project, aside from Forever Summer, for a while now. Because I got a bit burned out from writing the same story for a long time, haha. So I thought I should just try out different ideas and see where they lead, so here we are. But I've made really slow progress. So I couldn't show you guys, but I think I'm ready to announce what I've been working on in the last few months! 😄

It's a TSF/TG Visual Novel game!

Some of you might remember that I mentioned working on a game a long time ago, but that project was stopped because I wanted it to be in 2D anime style instead of 3D. I'm too fond of 2D anime style very much, but it's hard to just learn how to draw. But years passed, and I think I can draw something now. That's why I'm back to making a visual novel again from scratch! 😁

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The theme of this game will be Isekai/Fantasy setting in the world of "Fictricia" (my own fantasy universe.) There will be magic, of course.

There will be two games in this series: (nothing is set in stone just yet)

1. The introductory story (Length: Shorts, 1-2 routes, Possession, Corruption)

It's a remake of a story I did a while ago, "Cynthia's Biggest Quest." Follow an Elf named Cynthia, who follows her footstep to become the great light hunter (an archaeologist of sorts).)

2. The main story (Length: Medium-Long, 3-5 routes, Many tropes, including body swap, transformation, forced fem, Identity Theft, etc.)

Follow the chosen hero of light and his party's journey to save the world...?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope to release a demo of the first game roughly around May 2024. Coding is tough, but I'll try my best.

If it works out great, after Forever Summer is finished, I might consider switching to working on a game as my main content and doing comics maybe once in a while.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've included a demo of what the gameplay will look like. (Mostly reading and watching cutscenes and artwork.) The character in the demo is just a placeholder; I'll draw the characters myself.

All in all, even though my content is a lot less frequent compared to before, but you guys still follow me. thank you very very much. 🙂 I'll try my best to work on any project that may come up in the future. If you're reading to the end, I love you very much, I hope you guys like where I'm headed. Have fun in the holidays and have a happy new year! 😘

I know, you warned me before, haha. but I really feel like I have to do this, even if it's not what many people will like. It's my dream after all to be making my own VN as a solo dev.

Hi, SirMetathyst. I use Unity Engine for the project, with a Visual novel extension called "NaniNovel". It's really good, and can be use out of the box!

Moonlyte

Thanks, Diego! This gives me a lot of confidence! I'll do my best

Moonlyte

Thanks a lot, sparticus! I'll try my best to stick to the initial roadmap, and not get sidetrack, haha

Moonlyte

Yes! I remember what you taught me really well, haha. I tried trello at that time, but I haven't utilized it much... But this time, I just started using Notion for a month for this project causeryour advice at that time.. Tbh, I'm still not use to it, but i'll try to stick with it. Feature creeps are really hard to control, and it's just like what you described...

Moonlyte

Please no

zhanshiDE

Cool. What toolkit is it using?

SirMetathyst

Love it! Looks like a great start!

I should also add that you do not need to include any date(s) on the roadmap

sparticus_37

I think I suggested this to you back when you first announced the game, but before you get too far into the game you should absolutely create an initial or draft roadmap and publish it. This serves serveral purposes: 1) it gives you a direction for things you need to learn/research (programming, art, etc) 2) it helps control feature creep so that things you learn don't drive you off the rails with "oh I just learned how to do this, lets change all this up and re-do X months of work!" 3) it enables you to sets goals for yourself Always remember that roadmaps evolve and you can change it whenever, but you should at least be measured with your changes otherwise you'll never get anywhere

sparticus_37

I’ll make sure it’ll be worth it! 😘

Moonlyte

I’m really happy to see some hype! 😘😘

Moonlyte

I’d like to finish FS before anything, haha. Can’t say it’ll be faster, but I’ll try to get more chapters done, so maybe by the time the game comes out we’ll be done with FS. 😉
