News: Upcoming Tier Changes

As previously mentioned, I am making some changes to this Patreon as part of my ongoing efforts to simplify my life and work, get adequate rest, and keep my limited energy focused where it's most critical—the writing.

In service of this, I am getting rid of my more expensive tiers that require sporadic non-writing work from me as well as condensing rewards from some tiers into others.

I'll be implementing these changes after Thursday, July 3rd.

Going forward, I'll have 3, super-simple tiers. Each one also adds the rewards of the previous tier(s).

$5 tier:
—Art/Illustrations
—Bonus stories & deleted scenes
—Illustrated grimoire entries 

$7 tier:
—All advance chapters of my currently serializing stories. In this case, that's A Practical Guide to Sorcery and The Catastrophe Collector.

$15 tier:
—Bonus content audio
—Likely some Audible download codes for the full length audiobooks, too.

I'll only be unpublishing the affected tiers, not deleting them. This means that they disappear as an option for everyone who isn't already subscribed to them, but doesn't kick out existing patrons.

For example, if you're pledged at the $2 base tier, you'll experience no change. You'll still have access to everything you currently do, but the tier will disappear as an option for new patrons. If you're just here to support my writing and want to stay at that amount, you're free to do so. (And also, thanks for the support.)

If you're at the $25 audio tier or higher, it's the same, but I would encourage you to downgrade to the new $15 tier when the times comes, since it would save you money.

That is what is changing next month.

Long-term, I hope to implement one more change. I've long wanted to increase the number of advance chapters I give you guys, and have always taken note of readers' requests for this. Since I started this Patreon page, I've increased the number of advance chapters from 3 to 6, but I want to offer more.

I've recently had an increasing number of good health days, more so than I was having for a long time. I have needed to take some rest days, and had one distinct flareup recently. But overall, I still feel better than I did. (Knowing I have an actual health issue has helped me manage things much, much better, rather than continually trying to do more and pushing myself over the edge into a crash.)

This, plus the detailed planning I was able to get done during my hiatus, has allowed me to get a small buffer of chapters between what I'm writing and the chapter I'm releasing, which is awesome! It really helps reduce the pressure on me, which I think is another factor in keeping me healthy. (Which also means keeping those words flowing.)

I hope to increase my buffer a bit more, then release some bonus chapters. When we, at some point, reach 10 advance chapters, the $7 tier will become a $10 tier. I'll notify everyone again before that happens so there are no surprises.

Again, I will unpublish the old tier and create a new $10 one, so that all long-term patrons will keep the original price, for as long as you feel like sticking around. For any current patrons at this tier, all that changes is that you'll be getting more chapters.

I don't know when this will happen. I am not putting in any deadlines or estimates, because it might not happen quickly if my health doesn't allow. But I am working toward it.
