He hopes to raise his family out of poverty as an accomplished thaumaturge. Newton recognized Sebastien as a fellow achiever trying to escape a disadvantaged background and befriended him.

I think Oliver's card is next. I have a couple versions of his portrait, so I might do multiple.

I loved that plot twist and I think that was the point where this became one of my favourite series. At the same time he was the character I identified and sympathised with most so what happened to him felt like punch to the gut.
