Some News: Missing Chapter, Delays

Hey guys.

There's not going to be any chapter today (8/31.) In addition to that, I'm pushing out the release date for this book a couple months.

I've written a whole newsletter about the reasons, which is also re-posted on my website.

Rather than copy the whole thing here, I'll just leave you a link if you want all the details: https://preview.mailerlite.com/i0f9d1r6o3

The short of it is, I have been tight on time because I didn't get enough done at the beginning of the year due to a multi-month long malaise that might have been SAD, vitamin deficiency, or long COVID. In addition to that, this book is really super freaking long. Very likely the longest yet.

So I was really running along a tightrope without any leeway for failure if I wanted to get everything done on time.

And then yesterday, my father died.

He and I were not as close as we might have been, but his death is still a very disruptive event, as you can imagine.

I might miss a couple chapter releases this month, though I'll try not to. I fully plan to post again next Thursday, 9/7. Having said that, I am very pointedly not making promises

Book 4 A Foreboding of Woe's new release date is February 20, 2024. Since the book is so long, like I mentioned, pushing out the release date is not going to affect the weekly posting schedule due to lack of chapters.

(Though, again, like today I might miss posting just because of events going on in my life, in which case those missed posts will likely be made up by bonus chapters surrounding the release date.)

The new release date basically just means that I don't have to kill myself trying to recreate my buffer as Book 4 is published and Book 5 starts serialization.

The Catastrophe Collector Book 1 is finished and just has to go through editing and proofreading, so that should be coming out as scheduled, on October 25th. That's significantly before the book will be finished serializing, but unlike PGTS, I do not plan to post bonus chapters just to catch us up to the published books. (Partly because I don't have Book 2 ready to go yet, and now I might not for a while.)

You guys may be wondering: Are you okay, Azalea?

Yes, I am okay. I'm grateful to you guys for your support. Thank you very much, sincerely.

I'm just going to need a little extra rest, and I'm doing my best to make sure that's possible.

Great to hear. Knowing you've taken the time you need is worth more than content to me and I expect all your supporters would agree. What I mean to say is, thanks for no chapter!

That's really good to hear! We're sending all the good vibes.

Thanks for the well wishes and understanding from everybody. I'm doing alright, and probably quite well, considering. I'll be missing this week's chapter, too, simply because I haven't had any time to get anything related to writing done with all of the other things I've had to deal with.

Don't worry about it. Take your time and rest. I can tell you from experience, Loss of a parent can be a devestating blow to body, mind and soul. Doesn't matter if your really close or if the relationship deteriorated. They were (once)a huge part of our lives and when they're gone it leaves an empty spot. So again, don't worry about us. Grief for how long you want, rest for how long you need and come back when you're ready. We will be here, ready for your next adventure ib the streets of Gilbratha

I'm truly sorry to hear about your father. Even if the relationship wasn't as close as it could have been, the impact of such a loss is undoubtedly significant. Maybe even more so when the relationship wasn't ideal; Grief mourns not the end of what was, but the loss of what might have been yet never will. Take all the time you need; we're not going anywhere. Take your time and rest up; no one wants you to burn out. We love your work for your energy and passion. So, take care of yourself first. We'll still be here when you're ready to return. 🌟 Thank you also for taking the time to write and share this with us. Many would not, and we appreciate it. m(_ _)m

So very sorry for your loss. Please take care of yourself.

I'm so sorry to hear about your father. Take all the time you need! As many others have said, we would all rather you be healthy and happy than have new chapters. You are my absolute favorite author and I will wait however much time you need to get sorted. Sending love to you and your family!
