Grimoire Page: Monetary System Overview

I've had some questions and confusion about the monetary system in PGTS, and what certain prices really mean, so this digs into that a little. Please keep in mind that certain categories of goods, such as food, clothing, and imported goods follow a 1900's era equivalent pricing scheme, and are thus worth much more than they would be today.

I also keep price lists of common items or things mentioned in the story, but there wasn't time or space to really dig into much of that in this one.

If you'd like to browse through the pages on my website, here's the link: https://www.azaleaellis.com/grimoire-excerpt/grimoire-monetary-system-overview/

The next regular chapter in PGTS will be coming next Thursday, 2/24. I've continued to make good progress, with another 2.5 chapters drafted since last week.

Glad you enjoyed it. :) It's significant to understanding how people's frame of reference can greatly affect the way they think and the kind of world they experience. (Both for this story and in our real world.) I found that I thought I understood income inequality (in the real world), but I actually didn't grasp it until I saw it visualized with an interactive infographic. I love this. I find the whole monetary system super interesting and I love seeing it laid out like this. I also love the discussion of income inequality, it's a subject I'm generally passionate about. It's also one of the reasons I love Oliver. Such a great example of someone trying to make changes.
