Franklin's Expedition was a failed British voyage led by Sir John Franklin, that departed England in 1845 aboard two ships: Erebus and Terror.
Although the expedition's disaster is attributed to icebounding in the treacherous waters of the Arctic Ocean, the true reasons for the loss of the 2 ships and their 129 crew members remain a tightly guarded secret at the highest levels of the British Navy.
