Just two friends, having a coffee... pic + story

Many of you enjoyed previous Jenny piece. But what happened to that tiny guy? I actually asked Jenny what she made to him, and she came back with this fantastic mini-tale for all of you❤️ Hope you enjoy it, and remember next time you see a couple of girls having a sneaky chat on the table next to yours. You never know their secret business until you pay attention to the small details...

---

“Alisa! Your order is ready, Alisa!” The barista called out, setting a cup and saucer on the countertop. The redhead pushed her way through the others waiting for their coffee to take her cup, before giving a careful, testing sip of the piping hot coffee. Oooo that’s hot! Just the way I like it… Alisa thought to herself with a smirk, before turning her attention to the rest of the coffee shop.

In many ways the cafe was unremarkable, filled with patrons eager to get their fix of this year’s pumpkin spice season, people working on laptops at the tables while the world went by outside. At one of those tables, Alisa found who she was looking for. There was no mistaking her.

Nursing a steaming beverage of her own was a young woman, sitting at a table alone. She was remarkably tall, but what stood out about her was her bright royal blue ponytail, lipstick, and nail polish.

“You must be Jenny. You’re pretty easy to find.” Alisa remarked as she slid into the seat next to the other woman.

“Then you must be Alisa. Nice to meet you.” Jenny’s blue lips curled into a pleasant, friendly smile as she set her phone down and eyed her client. “The hair’s a side-effect of the magic, but I lean into it. And it makes meeting Witchlist clients pretty easy.” She laughed.

Alisa smirked. “It suits you, I think. I hope my request isn’t too much trouble? You’d really help me out if you can work your magic.” She said with a friendly smile, setting her coffee on the table, and pulling out a small plastic bag, filled with what appeared to be a muddy gray-brown powder. She poured the powder into her coffee, and used a spoon to give it a stir. "Melt for me nicely, little guys".

“Oh, it’s no trouble at all. You’d be surprised how many clients request something similar.” Jenny grinned, starting to dig through her bag, looking for something. She couldn’t help but notice, however, Alisa adding her own treat to the coffee. “Seems you’ve got your own source for tinies, if you’re using them in place of sugar.” The witch laughed. “Though I’m glad I can give you something the mail-order services can’t.”

---

Grinning, Jenny produced what she had been looking for, a shrunken man, no more than a half an inch tall, trapped in a small glass vial, sealed with a stopper. Alisa took a sip from her freshly-seasoned coffee, before peering at the tiny man. “Is that him then? Were you able to give him the enchantments I asked for?”

“Of course, I aim to please, after all. Good for repeat business.” Jenny winked. “I am going to need your phone, though. Unless you’d prefer something a little more old-school, like a ring or a pendant?”

Alisa shook her head. “No, no. My phone will work fine.” She produced it, and set it on the table, sliding it across to the witch, who picked it up.

Holding the phone in one hand, and gesturing with the other, Jenny mumbled some incantations, a twisting aura of fluorescent, pale-blue light dancing between her fingers and lighting up her eyes as she cast the spell.

Inside the vial, all the tiny man could do was watch. He’d long since given up trying to break out of the glass prison, and the cork stopper was wedged far too tight for him to budge. Helpless, he knew that he was at the mercy of these two titanesses, looming high above as they drank their coffee. The vial dulled their words, he couldn’t tell what they were saying, but he could see the witch casting another spell on the redhead’s phone, it looked similar to when he’d been caught and shrunken. She’d cast other spells on him too, he could feel the magic pulse through him, but he hadn’t noticed an effect. Perhaps that would change soon.

---

Her cast complete, Jenny slid Alisa’s phone back to her. “There you are. Contrary to popular belief, we’re not all crystal balls and dusty old spellbooks. We know how to work with technology too.” Alisa opened her phone, and saw that a brand new app had appeared on her home screen.

“You’re not, huh? Then why’s this app got a crystal ball for an icon?” She asked the witch.

Laughing, Jenny replied, “We might not need them, but we definitely love our symbols still! Go ahead and open it. You can control all the settings you asked for in there.”

Alisa did as she was told, opening the app. There were two big buttons, a plus and a minus. Below them, was a toggle switch labeled “immortality” with a smaller button below that labeled “respawn.”

“And this will all work on him?” Alisa asked, glancing from her phone, to the vial sitting on the table, then to Jenny’s bright blue eyes.

“Mhm. Should be pretty self explanatory. Press and hold to alter his size. As you requested, the immortality function means that he won’t be able to die, though it doesn’t make him invincible. He’ll still be able to be hurt and feel pain. If you turn it off though, the respawn button will return him to the state he is now though. Half an inch, inside the vial. So if you ever lose him, or want him back, that’s a good way to reset things, as it were.”

Jenny could see the smirk growing across Alisa’s lips. “Well, I suppose we have to try it out?” The redhead asked. Nodding, the witch reached for the vial, and pulled the cork, dumping the tiny man out into her client’s waiting hand.

---

With the app open on her phone as it rested on the table, Alisa pressed and held the minus button, and before the man could get his bearings in the middle of her palm, he found himself suddenly dwindling away under the eyes of the two women. Soon, a vast plane of flesh stretched out before him in all directions.

Then, just as suddenly as he was reduced to near microscopic size, he could feel himself change again, this time growing as the rolling hills of skin began to once again more closely resemble a woman’s palm.

What he didn’t notice however, was the finger descending from the sky. Bones cracked, flesh tore, and a smear of red was all that was left as Alisa slid her finger across her palm. Screaming in pain, the man should have been dead, looking down his torso was gone, legs twitching, left behind on the other end of a streak of blood, his blood, from where his head came to rest. He could feel every nerve across his whole self on fire with pain, and yet he would not die.

Just as suddenly as all this started, he was back again, trapped inside the glass vial, looking up, he could see the redhead rubbing at the streak of red, as if she was rubbing lotion into her skin, a satisfied smile spread across her lips.

“Thank you very much, Jenny. Your services are top notch. Don’t be surprised if I come calling on you in the future.” Alisa picked up the vial, and held it to her eye, peering at the shaking man inside. “I’m sure we can have a lot of fun together.”

Jenny smiled back. “You know how to reach me. My services are always available. And our friend here I’m sure is happy to oblige as well. After all, he did steal a vial of shrinking potion from my sock drawer!” Jenny said with a giggle.

Alisa arched her brow, peering from the tiny man to the witch across the table inquisitively. “A story for another time, perhaps. Enjoy!”
