My good friend Sami ditched his inadequate shell on the 22nd of October at 22 years old. Please check out this decent piece written about him in the local newspaper here in Phnom Penh. It doesn't mention his second, darker, more amazing play, Wind Up Mice. I loved that show SO much. It was an honor to be part of it. We were working on his latest project The Thousand Deaths of Dignity, but he had the audacity to peace out before we could get it done. I'm fucking devastated. We, as an artistic community, were dreadfully robbed by this loss. Let alone how I feel on a personal level. Me and Sami really bonded in the last few months and I just cannot deal with the fact we cannot finish this project together. An amazing talent, a genius of narrative, a clever, sweet, conscious, funny, raw, epic human. He made me promise I wouldn't read the books he wrote as a kid until he was dead (hahahaha) so now I have to find copies. Me and my friends turned up and turned out for Halloween Weekend after his beautiful funeral but I just don't have any words right nwo. It's too much. I took some super cute pictures in October and planned to put them up on the 21st but things got weird and then really sad. I'll post them spicy snaps here the instant I get my mojo back, please forgive me. And while I'm asking for things, please keep me in your thoughts. I will be okay, because I am always okay, but I'm in a lot of emotional pain right now. Love y'all.
