November was surreal. I explored french wine and artisan vegan cheese. I wandered through parts of the city I haven't seen before. I solidified my friendships with several cool people. The weather has been notably cooler than the rest of the year. If you check out the angle of the sun's light, you'll notice it's winter light. The sun sets at 5:50 instead of 7. Setting clocks back doesn't happen here. There's no such thing as a Khmer xmas song. It simply doesn't exist. LOL.
I also used a combination of folk medicines to overcome the new flu variant. I drank an entire medium cooking pot of my version of Golden Milk in one day, then made more (recipe below). I had abut 4 liters of Chinese crystallized ginger tea over three days. I did a couple hours worth of Eucalyptus vapor steaming. I went through the whole jar of this badass mandarin syrup I made, and then got out the big bucks for fresh pressed beet and carrot juice blend.
My little ginger familiar was glued to my lap the whole time I was feeling poorly. He's just such a love, it's adorable. Each evening when I come home, he greets me at the door and tells me how his day went very earnestly. I can't understand a word he's saying, but it seems pretty chill most of the time. Meow-meow, meow.
This month has also seen a lot of witchcraft. I've done several workings and readings for others, and a few juicy bits for myself. I have taken on a formal apprentice for the upcoming year and am considering making space for another. The call to build a formal altar is beckoning me as well. It's been several years since I've had the peace and space necessary for such an endeavor. Feels good. Of course, you will be the first to see the pictures when it is complete.
