Musings: October

Looks like I forgot the musing post again… I gotta get better at this.

So! Big news! I got a job! I’m writing dialogues (technically, monologues, as it’s one sided and other character’s lines are merely implied) for some smutty browser games! It also PAYS! Like, a real, viable amount of money to function in society. I’ve been living off 200-300 dollars/month for so long I’m struggling to comprehend the amount of money I will be making, moving forward, and it’s not even all that much, objectively. It’s only part time, at the moment, so I will still be working on my usual stories and commissions, don’t worry. But between that and the patreon’s newest growth spurt, I finally feel like I can actually make some progress, like I’m not just treading water and desperately praying a shark doesn’t come along and bite off my leg or something, like I can finally see the shore on the other side. I jumped into this writing thing with both feet after the sudden success of Daddy’s Home, and had to learn how to swim or drown, and until very recently, I wasn’t sure I was gonna make it. I’m still not sure there’s not a hungry shark eyeing my toes, but... Okay, the metaphor may be getting a little strained at this point, but you get the picture.

In other news, I had to take a brief break from writing because I went to my aunt’s wedding last weekend, and to avoid paying for a hotel, stayed at my grandma’s place for five days. Most of my family is aware of what I write, but I haven’t told grandma, so she wasn’t really aware of what she was doing when she offered me the use of the study so I could work when I wasn’t busy with wedding-related stuff. I don’t imagine any of you have ever tried to describe a boner while listening to your 90+ year old grandmother discuss the arrangement of various dishes on the dinner table with your aunts and uncles on the other side of a very thin wall, but it is not a particularly productive environment. I’m home safe, though, and I’m getting back in gear again, there should be more stuff going up for your enjoyment pretty soon!

I think that’s pretty much all the major updates, I did get another new commissioner who signed up while I was at grandma’s, looking to continue one of my unfinished stories, so look forward to that one, should be getting started on that right after finishing the current chapter. As always, I hope you continue to enjoy my stuff, there’s always more coming!

Oh, one last thing- it's spooky season, so I may just have to churn out something quick and dirty to celebrate between commissions.
