Chapter 4.1- High Priest (R18)

This exam has four rules.

1. Do not interfere with another candidate.

2. Rescue as many people as possible.

3. Ensure none of those you rescue come into harm.

4. Do not place any civilians in danger beyond their previous situation.

5. Disable as many villains as possible.

The scenario is thus: The Villain Warlord, Jinpachi Ego, has invaded Japan. He and his army of acolytes have launched an attack on Battle Scape B. Your objectives are twofold, battle and disable as many of the villains as possible while also rescuing civilians and keeping them out of harms way. The villains are not worth equal points. Red villains are worth one point, Green villains are worth five points, and Blue villains are worth ten points. Jinpachi Ego himself is worth two hundred points but will only reveal himself if all his villains are defeated.

The giant screen read those words. I looked around me as various people finished reading and began to digest the words. “Jinpachi Ego, who’s that?” I heard one person say from behind me and almost chuckled. One of Nezu’s games most likely. Jinpachi Ego was not a name most would be familiar with. Whether for good or for ill, his name had been relegated to the annals of time. He was one of five warlords who had terrorised much of Japan and the entire Asian continent at large for much of the early post-awakening era.

He was also interesting among the warlords. He was shit in a straight forward fight. Probably any C-class hero of this day and age would beat him one-on-one if they ever got him in that position. No, what made him dangerous was his ability to gather a following. He had a brainwashing quirk that allowed him gather thousands in his thrall. He was one of the most dangerous quirk users in history. He’d singlehandedly shifted how the government of dozens of nations treated and handled people born with quirks that allowed them to control the behaviour and actions of others. Needless to say, I’d met my fair share of brainwashing and brainwashing-quirk adjacent patients at the Institute. It was as much a prison as it was a hospital, all things considered. A gilded cage, but a cage nonetheless.

Consumed with my thoughts, I reacted a second too late when the gates suddenly swung open. Instead of being the first to cross the gate, it was instead a familiar looking boy with explosions flowing from his fists. I resisted the temptation to even consider poking that cluster of landmines with ease, and picked out my rotation for this test.

Two objectives: Defeat villains, and rescue civilians. More specifically, I had to ensure that I was disabling the villains in as gentle a way as possible to prevent being called out for excessive violence.

Flight, Telekinesis, and Supercomputer would be more than enough. I ignored the shouts of shock around me as I gently floated into the sky before rocketing into the Battlescape. It was arranged just like a city. It looked like any relatively modern Japanese city, filled with skyscrapers and giant appartment and office buildings. I got my first look at the villains when I noted a red robot smashing into a window while cackling manaically through its speakers. Since the villain was a robot and not a human like I initially expected, I relaxed my rules. I reached out to it with my telekinesis and crushed it into pieces.

Through the window the man had been trying to break open was a couple. A woman and her daughter. Unlike the villain, these were actual humans. “Hello. I am the hero Eidolon. I am here to help” I said as I floated in through the broken window.

They nodded, still holding on to each other. “Perfect. I will be picking the both of you up with my quirk now. I will take you to an appropriate zone and establish a safe area there” I told them again, still getting nothing but nods. I picked them up with my telekinesis before jetting away from the building and going towards the area I’d scouted during my flight.

Just like I predicted, it was perfect. A playground. A bunch of wide sprawling land that could contain a lot of people. I dropped the mother and her daughter in the playground before I reached out with my telekinesis and concentrated. Swings, slides, steps, benches, whatever wasn’t nailed down in the playground was picked up by my power before I directed it around the space, forming makeshift walls and barriers to ensure that nothing would be making it in easily.

“You will be safe here. If you notice any danger, scream my name as loudly as possible and I will be here in seconds” I told them before jetting off again.

A/N; UA test things. This is probably inspired by all the MHA fan fiction I’ve read.
