Chapter 50.3- Oak

Settled that my starter was more than strong enough for even the aura pokemon of Sinnoh, I focused my energy on Kisame. She was constantly switching between water and ice type attacks to keep her assailants off balance and let her exploit their individual weaknesses. Ice for the Dragonite, water for the Charizard. Months ago, that Dragonite had been enough to threaten my entire team, but now he wasn’t even a match for Kisame alone. If there was anything that convinced me of my team’s growth, this was it. We’d reached the higher levels of the world, and this stupid poacher just could not keep up. I smiled at him, a bright, mean thing that showed just how much rage I’d accumulated in the past few months. Ino returned, appearing behind me in a rush of displaced air. Our minds melded and I was up to date on what had happened in the lab which wasn’t very much. She’d just dropped Gary off at the lab and told Alakazam what had happened. The extra time spent had been consoling the boy into letting her go after he woke up.
“Get me that Dragonite’s skull” I said out loud, and Ino only nodded before moving into the battle. Kisame saw her coming and turned her full attention to the Charizard. When Dragonite tried to punish her for it, he found a resolute Gardevoir standing in his way. Just as I’d taught her to do when facing Dragons, she focused her fairy typing into her spoon and body and prepared herself to slay another dragon. It moved in with extreme speed, but she just teleported backwards to retreat and fired a moonblast at the space she’d once occupied. It was able to dodge the attack, by the skin of its teeth, but that mattered little. With the lack of knowledge about fairy types in this world, no one trained their dragons to fight their natural weaknesses to the typing. Fairy type moves tended to be One hit knockouts to weaker dragons. Even Claire’s dragons had only needed a few attacks to fall before Ino’s feet. Eventually, this advantage of ours would disappear. I already saw that Oak was getting closer and closer to discovering the fairy type itself. Rocket had only delayed his enquiry into Gardevoir as a species, but not ended it. The lab already had notes that hinted at what he would soon discover. On that day, this advantage would disappear, but until then? I’d fuck over every dragon I came across with no hesitation or pity. ‘Dazzling Gleam’ I commanded and the rainbow beam of light that shot out of Ino’s body made contact with Dragonite, stunning it for a second and allowing her to move in for a closer engagement. Its claws tried to grab at her, but Ino had an easy time dodging them and wherever she moved her spoon, cuts followed. ‘Psycut with an edge of fairy type energy’, I recognised with a smile on my face. Ino had always been the brightest member of my little family, and moments like this showed that creativity and ingenuity. Sometimes, I wondered if she actually needed me. ‘Do not be ridiculous, my lord’ She said and I had to admonish her to pay attention to her opponent, no matter how unengaging she found him. When she was done delivering her half a hundred cuts, she went in to deal with the Dragon finally and it disappeared in a bolt of red light. I turned to my opponent in shock, and found him looking at me with a scowl.
“I guess Daddy’s been helping a lot, hasn’t he?” He said, as he returned his other teammates. It was then that I noticed that Broly had already knocked Lucario into unconsciousness but refrained from killing it for some reason, and Kisame was in the process of drowning the charizard. I winced a bit at that. Killing a fire type by drowning could actually qualify as torture.
“Psycho” He shouted, and I quickly instructed Ino to block off teleportation. It didn’t matter though. His Alakazam appeared by his side and took off with a burst of psychic energy, teleporting straight through Ino’s blockade. I looked at her in shock, and found her one visible eye just as wide as mine. Fuck. The rest of his accomplices had been knocked unconscious by Ino as she arrived, and I regretted not having her do the same to him. We bound them up and called the local pallet town police before leaving for the lab. After my experience with the ACE cell, I’d never be waiting at a crime scene like this one again if I could help it.
A/N; Chapter’s finally done. I’ll fuse everything into a single chapter later today. Have a lovely Sunday, everyone.
