Eternal Bonds MOBILE! A FFXIV Otome game

Happy April 1st! With the FFXIV Mobile announcement, it only felt logical to make a mobile version of Eternal Bonds as well!

Just like last year, it's not really a "prank" the kind you usually see today. The joke is more like that I'm delusional and I'd play the hell out of this if it was real - although this one is gacha, so I kinda not want it to be. I'd be an easily exploitable fool. Maybe I should add a bonus shot there at the end with Lizard having spent all her gil for that SSS.

I did focus more on the gacha aspect not only because it's something more associated with mobile games, but so I could show more characters, even though I will always be biased for G'raha. Part of me kinda wished I'd done more interactions like the LADS story cards, with their acting and interacting with the main character, but that would've taken me a lot more time - getting the voice clips, finding the right story for it...maybe in the next one. I admit, I already DO have ideas for a next one...I might turn this into a April 1st tradition.

While making this, I tried to think of how I'd make the game work if it was actually real...

Every card could have a little story that fits between key moments in canon, with extra dialogue and making you seem closer to the character in question - for example, Thancred's card in Amh Araeng. It could even be not romantic in nature, just flirty and indirect. Or some could even be things like extra backstory or slice of life of the characters.

I'd make the Scions the main character and most of the cards would be theirs, but also have special banners and events for non-regular characters, villains or characters that are already gone - that's why I didn't add Zenos or Emet in the Summer banner pull for example, as he would probably require a special banner. Also, Themis isn't in the Elpis banner because he'd be in the Pandaemonium banner with Erichtonios. I know most people won't really analyze it that far and just say I should have added them there but I need it to make sense for myself!!!

We could also have some really cool AU scenarios, just like we get them in Love and Deepspace and Tears of Themis, and that could unlock new outfits and background that you could dress the character in your home screen with. The more you interact with them, the more affection you gain, and you unlock new interactions and voice clips.

I'd also add maybe a feature that you could organize your cards in an album according your character's canon! Like, link you WoL to the game, and have a journal with the cards that you associate with your character(s). That way, the card stories wouldn't be automatically considered canon and you could pick and choose. They'd be just "official headcanon suggestions"? We could maybe call the cards "dreams" or "echoes" to go with that.

And yes of course, all the good fanservice and fully voiced stories and pretty men you can touch and admire. But that's only the essentials, right?
