Tutorial: Adding new bones to a rig
Added 2025-03-03 11:45:06 +0000 UTCHello! Today I made a simple tutorial on how to add new bones to a rig.
Sometimes you might need bones for areas you want to move but can't, or maybe you're adding new parts to the rig that you want to control. Or maybe you just don't like certain bones that come with the rig and want to make your own.
You can also use this to maybe fix how certain bones move that you might not be happy with.
I tried to keep it simple, but there are many other tools that can help you with the process. But I usually only do it this way, because it's simple and very fast! Without speeding it up, the Krile recording is only 16 minutes long.
I hope this is helpful. If you have any questions, let me know!
Thank you for watching and for your support!

Thank you for watching it!! I'm happy I could show you a new tool then ❤️ didn't know about assigning weights directly, will definitely look into that too!

I didn't know about that and used to struggle with the smuge tool, but this will help me out a lot :D You can also assign weights to your selection directly to the bones corresbonding vertex group in edit mode. This will basically skip the first step of painting everything red in the beginning, to safe just a few seconds more on each new bone :)
