IT'S DONE! :D

I just spent the last 2 months animating to say "I don't know how to play Mahjong". But I will if that means having G'raha Tia talk to me while I do it.

Funny thing is, because of this, I actually learned a little more Mahjong than I did when I started, and now I want to keep playing and get better at it. It's pretty fun when it actually starts to make sense!

I had to research, ask for help and learn the rules to add a few small jokes for Mahjong players. For example, I had to make sure that triple Ron could actually happen in a game because I really wanted Estinien and Y'shtola's yaku to be those specific ones. But I hope you can still understand what's going on even if you have no idea how the game works. You just need to be aware that 7.1 added Dawntrail's best feature yet, which is having the Scions comment on your Mahjong game.

I'm also glad I got the opportunity to add some other Scions as well, because even though G'raha will always be my favorite and the main reason I'm playing it, some of them have great voice lines. I particularly really like Alphy's "HASSHIN!", so that's why I added him in there. And also, because Shinnosuke Tachibana is REALLY good at mahjong - he even won this year's dev tournament! Which by the way, I heard about in ViMiMi's channel. She also's got the best beginner's Mahjong guide I've seen, and it was REALLY helpful when making this video!

This is longer than what I usually go for, and it wasn't even my original plan - it just kept getting longer as I made it, adding more time for shots to work better and all. I still think a few of them still feel a little fast, but I got to a point that I think it's good enough! I want to work on my next one already :P

And who knows, maybe it motivates a few more people to play Mahjong in FFXIV. We could really use some more people queuing for it in NA... :x

By the way, if you're curious about the JP voice lines, I posted on Bluesky all of the G'raha Tia lines I got while collecting them for this video with a direct translation. I couldn't find anyone translating those, so I tried it myself. :)
