We venture into the woods and walk under the massive oaks, whose forbears helped build Nelson’s Victory and more recently were logged to make the great pillars that support the new Globe Theatre on the South Bank of the Thames in London. I realise that Shakespeare wrote for the ‘wooden O’, referring to the original open-air, timber-framed Globe Theatre, in the Prologue to Henry V
My walk with Tanya through these ancient lands was au naturel, enjoying the spring air; clambering over the fallen trees and old mine workings while enjoying the forest walks.
