Added 2024-07-31 22:55:13 +0000 UTCA cluster of 20-mile-wide columns of shining white clump together in the sky above you, curving across the entire continent with length to spare. The sun is nowhere to be seen, but daylight persists, reflected from a brilliant cosmic landscape of shining slopes that frame every horizon, bar one.
There, a shining black feature extends to a titanic and indiscernible distance., its outline carved out of the heavens in brilliant, glistening highlights. The winds begin to howl, and the ground begins to shake, as all at once, every horizon begins to glow with the embers of a cracking crust.
The air grows hot, and the giant white columns extending from the sky-spanning mountains begin to arc from east to west. Suddenly, they bend in the middle, as if pushed down toward you by the black, starless expanse to the north.
As you begin to float off the ground, you see distant clouds and oceans rising rising with you. The air grows thin, but the heat only builds. You are accelerating, gasping as the whole sky darkens, saves for the streaks of molten rock being pulled in every direction like floating, glowing spaghetti.
As depressurization takes hold of you, glimpse a pair of icy eyes as distant as the moon, peering town between the white, continent-spanning columns that have seemingly split your world asunder.
You gaze, and in awe, you pray to them.
