Feeling a bit like a failure right now...
Added 2022-09-08 04:50:56 +0000 UTCI've got a game breaking bug that has been holding me up for the last few hours on the second to final stage of the game. I'm extremely irritated and was trying hard not to just cut more content than I've already cut from the original script... My original intention was to have the game out on 9/6/22, with a release as late as September 15th. I promise that I'll have this worked out well before then. No promises that it will be released tomorrow though... Latest is Sunday... What I'm essentially having to do is take out a bunch of sprites and instead do a series of rendered images as scenes... I appreciate you all staying as patient as you have been. But it's nearly 1 AM now and I have to get up at 6 AM for work... From my perspective, this story is certainly the most interesting story that I've done so I hope you all agree when I release it. I'm really sorry for the delays... Any free time I have is 100% dedicated to getting this out ASAP, but I need sleep...

Thank you for the kind words :) It's 11:34 right now as I type this and I'm happy to say I'm uploading version 0.6.0 right now! I'll likely make the post around 12 PM on 9/9/2022 after everything is uploaded (it's a 2.5 GB file size). I am also transferring over the project files to my Mac so I can export that version which will need to then also be uploaded ha.

2022-09-09 03:36:43 +0000 UTCI'm certainly very near "completion" of D.I.E.T. (and plan to do a sequel) simply because the game file is getting so dang large (nearly 2.5 GB file this time). I messed up a bit originally by using image files that were too large anyways (was using 2k x 2k images that were getting scaled down to 700 x 700 quality to fit on the screen) so it's drastically increased the file size. I can take the lessons learned from this current D.I.E.T. to use some of the camera movements that you'll see in version 0.6.0 with some of the other nifty features for all storylines under a sequel game.

2022-09-09 03:34:27 +0000 UTCYou’re not a failure! These things happen and I cannot imagine how frustrating it must be. it is okay if you need more time. I admire your work ethic but just make sure you’re taking time to care for yourself (and get some sleep 🙂). I appreciate you keeping us updated!

2022-09-08 12:48:15 +0000 UTCAs u keep adding more content the game breaking bugs will get harder to find. It's just how game design works. Eventually I think game devs need to understand that it might be better to release a separate game than to spend days figuring out a minor bug in a complex update it's all part of programming and error tracing. Not only do you need to see if the update is compatible with the original game, but u gotta make sure it's compatible with all other previous updates as well as be bug free itself in itself. A lot of times the bug itself is really dumb like a capital letter on a variable or a wrong reference but looking for it is the deal breaker that'll keep you up at night.
