Fiction is easier to work around for films compared to based on true stories. I still preferred Mickey and Dickie's story though over southpaw

2025-08-25 01:07:22 +0000 UTCFYI on weight classes: there is a thing called catchweight. This is where the fighters are in different weight classes. Usually happens when someone doesn’t make weight or there is a last minute replacement as in this case. Both fighters need to agree to the fight being a catchweight and in the case of someone missing weight that fighter may also have to give a portion of their fight purse (pay) to the other fighter to make it worth it to them. Also prior to weigh in the fighters are cutting weight to make the weight for the fight, once they make weight they will immediately start to try and rebulk up. So while they may weigh in at 155 or whatever, at the time of the fight they could be and probably are over the weight limit for the fight.

They showed his documentary in prison in front of everyone, and as it went on Dickie's embarrassment, shame and realization happens, he turns off the doc and it shows him walk away and kneel down crying outside the room. I'll pick a non sports film next month haha 🤣
