Weird to think Maggies known some of these new people longer than she knew Glenn ๐ฌ I do love the first 9 episodes of this season. And then there's a lot of stand outs from there on but the first 9 are definitely my favourite. Hard to fairly judge season 11 at times bc the showrunner found out last minute it was the last season and she had to rewrite a lot of it to accommodate sadly. About the colours and filming, this is the first season where they switch to digital cameras. They used the same graint apocalyptic type filming style for 10 seasons until covid hit so they switched to this cheaper one which I don't love but oh well.

2025-07-17 15:13:33 +0000 UTCI'm so glad they were able to have Lauren Cohan back for this final season because even small moments like seeing Hershel together with Judith/RJ/Gracie mean so much to me when I think about how far their parents have come together as a group. I loved the proper introduction to the reapers in this episode, because there was no time wasted and they're straight to action.

2025-07-17 00:39:52 +0000 UTCWatching it all back with you guys.. it really sticks out how much of a leap forward S11 wound up being.. pretty much from the first episode and onwards - it's actually pretty staggering how much of a "comeback" it really was.

2025-07-16 15:44:45 +0000 UTCThis episode does a really good job of showing how Carol really tries to take the burden of the difficult things and do it herself, so others arenโt burdened by it. Sheโs really such a strong woman that cares about everyone so much. Unfortunately, I think they misread her a lot as someone who is evading work and being distant because she feels guilty, and thatโs not always the case.

2025-07-16 15:17:09 +0000 UTCI love season 11! Angela Kang did an amazing job show running, especially shown in cool episodes like this! Vivian Tse did an amazing job writing! She really understands Negan and Maggie's relationship to each other and others. Frederick E.O. Toye did an awesome job directing as well! And, of course, all the actors killed it! Loved Alden bossing Negan around before they had to leave him considering Negan did technically used to be his boss xD. You can even see the smug satisfaction that he gets from that, which his actor portrays perfectly. I'm glad Phil remembered the pope thing because that is the first clue you get, and I love the mystery of it! Negan wanting to to help is definitely part of his guilt of what he did and specifically because he's seen what it's done to Maggie but he knows he can't argue her points because she's not entirely wrong. Negan was the first stone through their communities windows, then when he left and joined Alpha, he participated in burning down Hilltop, which wasn't only Maggie's home for a while during her pregnancy, but also a place that she ran, so she's still feeling that. I think Maggie knows she's being unreasonable in her arguments with Negan (only sometimes, like insisting on carrying Alden around while being hunted) but she can't help but feel like she needs to oppose him. She obviously also cares about Alden but she doesn't want to agree to leave him behind also because Negan is insisting on leaving him, despite it being the best idea. And therein lies the issue many people have with Maggie, that they feel she's 'too whiny' or something along those lines, when she's being forced to travel with the man who violently killed Hershel's father so she has many reasons to 'be whiny'. I might be biased because I love Maggie a lot but I absolutely understand where she's coming from here! Love Negan and Maggie alone, I will say. They are so very opposing personalities and views of the world and how it was or should be (especially when they first 'meet'). It's ripe for good character drama! Love seeing the girls go on a horse adventure! It was a girls day out and it was fun and then very sad xD. Commonwealth coming back in a couple of episodes which I honestly don't mind because I am enjoying seeing everything everyone else is up to!
