My favorite Pierce moment in the entire series is him checking Jeff on how he treats Britta. Pierce has his moments every now and then, but that one is one for the books.

2025-06-21 21:35:05 +0000 UTCYes, Season 4 isn’t bad! It’s just that you can really feel the absence of Dan Harmon. Some of this season’s episodes were actually based on ideas he had proposed before they fired him. But let’s thank Jeff (Joel McHale), who campaigned hard to bring him back, eventually convincing both Sony and NBC. Dan Harmon is known for being a perfectionist, both as a showrunner and main writer, and it shows immediately in 5x1. The quality of the dialogue, the fast, witty conversations, the insane storylines. it’s all back. We’re almost there, but in the meantime, let’s enjoy Season 4. It’s still better than most sitcoms even at its “worst.”

2025-06-21 19:23:32 +0000 UTCI think season 4 get much more hate then deserved, it has some good episodes.. this one is not at the top for me. but i think the problem with this season is that there are really no stand out episodes.. thats high concept. like .... - "Modern Warfare" and "A Fistful of Paintballs" S1 and 2 paintball episodes - "Advanced 'Dungeons & Dragons'" - S2 the great D&D episodes where they try to help fat Neal - "Conspiracy Theories and Interior Design" - S2 the concpiracy episode when Jeff, the dean and annie try to teach each others a lesson, .. and the drama teacher ends up playing the conspiracy teacher.. the ending is great, when they all shoot each other. - "Remedial Chaos Theory" S3 when Abed and Troy hold a house warming party, and they creat the darkest timeline when jeff throws dice for who is going to get the pizza, a classic. and really high concept for a sitcom - "Pillows and Blankets" - S3 the fantastic episode where troy and abed goes to war over their pillow and blanket forts, and its shot like a wartime documentary.. its one of the all time greatest tv episode.. with a really good and sentimental ending, with troy and abed fighting because they dont wont to lose each other as friends. - "Basic Lupine Urology" S3, when the study group must find out who killed their yam, and abed and troy plays cops, and Annie and Jeff lawyers.. it turns into law&order - "Digital Estate Planning" S3 when pierce's dad has made a video game for pierce to win his inheritence, and ends up playing against his unknown black half brother, most off the episode inside the video game. and many other episodes like this, like the bottle episode, where Annie accuses the group of stealing her pens, or the one where they play out a mafia movie by taking over the fishsticks in the cafeteria. there are so many examples... i feel like S4 is a good sitcom, but it lacks the same magic from earlier... it tries to ripp off many of the earlier episodes themes and ideas but not really landing with the same force.. like the Abed TV episode, it felt like the new writers forced the whole idea because they knew they had to do something with abed beeing addicted and seeing the world in tv formats, it felt really forced.. or the whole changnesia plot line,. i dont like it. there are a many "good" to "ok" eps in season 4, no episode is bad... but it lacks the magic spark of earlier seasons. i also feel like they force some plot points.. like Britta and Troy, and dont really know what to do with Abed the whole season.. making him more normal in some episodes. i usually skip some of season 4.... just watching a few of the "good" episodes. but it gets a little to much hate.. i think its a 7/10 season, while the rest of the show is a 9/10... and some of the best episodes in other seasons beeing a 10/10. sorry for the long comment.. but i noticed you guys have commented that you dont really understand the hate for season 4 in earlier reactions. really love your community and always sunny reactions.. and im glad you are watching season 4... its not as bad as people often say.
