A theory I heard on this movie before was that the crazy woman kept saying there needed to be a pure sacrifice or whatever and then when they kill the kid instantly everything is okay. I liked the normal way to look at though, shows the problem with giving up hope or whatnot.

It showed perfectly how fanaticism grows when things go wrong and the ending made so much sense to me because I've heard stories of people in disaster situations ending their lives because they thought it was over. As stupid as it seemed in hindsight, I really don't think they could've stayed in that store. That group was large and they had already killed a guy, I'm not waiting around until they decide to kill again, especially if I have my kid there. On top of the TWD actors you guys noticed, Sam Witwer who plays the poor soldier that got stabbed was actually the walker in the tank in the first episode of TWD.
